Jieyin and Zhunti had been driven to desperation. Gritting their teeth, they imitated the Sanqing and swore an oath to the Heavenly Dao.

"Heavenly Dao above, we, Zhunti and Jieyin, establish the Western Teachings to enlighten the living beings of the Primordial World and take it as our duty to revive the West. May the Heavenly Dao bear witness!"

In an instant, heaven and earth changed color. Streams of Mysterious Yellow Qi descended from the void, and a golden pillar reaching the sky fell upon the eagerly awaiting Jieyin and Zhunti.

Seeing merit descend, Zhunti and Jieyin were overjoyed, their faces brimming with smiles.

The living beings of the Primordial World also saw the merit descend and assumed that another Saint was about to be born. They immediately prepared to kneel in worship.

At last, the merit of the Heavenly Dao condensed into form and merged into Jieyin and Zhunti's bodies.

Mid-stage Quasi-Saint, late-stage, peak.

In the end, the merit was exhausted after raising their cultivation to the peak of the Quasi-Saint realm.

They were now only one final step away from becoming Saints.

This was awkward.

Jieyin and Zhunti exchanged a glance, gritted their teeth, and swore another oath to the Heavenly Dao.

"Heavenly Dao above, we, Zhunti and Jieyin, are willing to establish Forty-Eight Great Vows before the Heavenly Dao!"

First vow, that there be no evil paths: when I attain Buddhahood, if there are beings in my land in hell, as hungry ghosts, or as beasts, I shall not attain perfect enlightenment.

Second vow, that none return to evil paths: when I attain Buddhahood, if heavenly beings in my land return to the three evil paths after their lifespan ends, I shall not attain perfect enlightenment.

Third vow, that all bodies be golden: when I attain Buddhahood, if heavenly beings in my land are not all of true golden color, I shall not attain perfect enlightenment.

Fourth vow, that all forms be alike: when I attain Buddhahood, if heavenly beings in my land differ in appearance, beauty, or ugliness, I shall not attain perfect enlightenment.

Forty-eighth vow, to attain the three dharma forbearances: when I attain Buddhahood, if bodhisattvas from other lands who hear my name cannot immediately attain the first, second, and third dharma forbearances, and cannot immediately become irreversible in all Buddha dharmas, I shall not attain perfect enlightenment.

As the Forty-Eight Great Vows were made,

in an instant, heavenly flowers drifted down throughout the entire Primordial World, while thunder rumbled through the void. The Heavenly Dao had acknowledged their oaths.

Once they had finished their vows, the Heavenly Dao finally bestowed another portion of merit.

The great powers of the Primordial World were dumbfounded. That worked too? Those two were really having a grand time!

"These two, Jieyin and Zhunti, are truly shameless. Back when the Dao Ancestor preached in Zixiao Palace, they obtained Saint positions by throwing tantrums and rolling around on the ground. Now they are borrowing merit from the Heavenly Dao to become Saints. They truly have not changed—just as shame~less."

"They could not become Saints through the merit of establishing the Western Teachings, yet they actually dared to make great vows to the Heavenly Dao to obtain merit. Those two are finished. Won't they have to work for the Heavenly Dao for the rest of their lives? Forty-eight great vows—sigh! They can pay them back slowly!"

"Who in the Primordial World would dare make great vows to the Heavenly Dao? Let alone make forty-eight in succession! Those two are really hardheaded."

The great powers of the Primordial World discussed it one after another, all wanting to know how Jieyin and Zhunti would repay such immense karma.

Setting aside what everyone else thought,

as the borrowed merit merged into their bodies, surging phenomena immediately arose. Endless auspicious clouds emerged in the void and rolled forth. On the lands of the Primordial World, golden lotuses burst from the earth, covering the boundless land.

Infinite mysteries appeared as golden flowers descended from the heavens.

Immediately afterward, a pressure unique to Saints radiated from Jieyin and Zhunti.

The Dao Ancestor's final two disciples entered the Saint realm.

Jieyin and Zhunti felt the exhilaration of becoming Saints and revealed joyful smiles.

The Heavenly Dao was utterly delighted as it observed Jieyin and Zhunti's Dao Fruits.

Free laborers were not to be wasted.

The Heavenly Dao continuously imprinted runes into their Dao Fruits, yet Jieyin and Zhunti felt nothing at all.

If they failed to fulfill the vows they had made, those runes could kill them in an instant.

Originally, the Sanqing had been watching the show, believing that the two from the West were about to thoroughly disgrace themselves! After all, judging by that merit, even

the ignorant beings of the Primordial World knew that it was insufficient for the two to attain the Dao and become Saints.

Yet not long after the merit descended, those two began making vows one after another?

Were those two from the West truly unafraid of becoming entangled in karma?

This maneuver truly earned the Sanqing's contempt.

Although everyone in the Primordial World despised their methods, the two had already become Saints, so proper appearances still had to be maintained.

"Congratulations to the two Saints of the Western Teachings, Jieyin and Zhunti, for attaining the Saint Dao Fruit! May Saints Jieyin and Zhunti enjoy boundless holy longevity!"

Five Saints had emerged in the Primordial World within a single day. At first, its living beings were somewhat shocked, but by the end, they had gradually become numb.

From then on, the six Saints under Dao Ancestor Hongjun had all taken their places, and the Primordial World entered the era of Saints.

When Di Jun and the others of the Heavenly Court saw the six Saints take their places, their urgency to become Saints grew even stronger.

"Have you found a way to restrain the Ancestral Witches?"

Seated upon the Demon Emperor's throne, Di Jun looked at Ji Meng and asked.

Although they possessed the Grand Formation of the Stars, Di Jun still felt they could not be certain of defeating the Witch Race. Thus, he had sent Ji Meng to seek a method to restrain the Ancestral Witches.

"Reporting to the Demon Emperor, I traveled throughout the Primordial World and discovered that by infusing the flesh and blood of humans into Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures, one can forge a sword capable of breaking the physical bodies of the Ancestral Witches."

"Humans? The humans Nuwa created after becoming a Saint?"

"This will be difficult."

The humans' backing was simply too great: Nuwa, who had become a Saint; Xuan Yi, the Dao Ancestor's son; and several other Saints.

This made Di Jun hesitate.

"Elder Brother, we can no longer worry about so much. Only by defeating the Witch Race, unifying the Primordial World, and relying on the providence of unifying the Primordial World to become Saints can we ensure that our Witch Race has no further worries."

"Fine. In that case, let us make preparations and head for the humans."

Di Jun also knew this was their only option. Even if it meant offending every Saint, they had to do it, for the two of them had no way back.

Humanity.

A gigantic Kunpeng spread his wings, blotting out the sky and covering the earth. With a gentle flap, countless demonic winds swept toward humanity. Wherever those winds passed, innumerable humans were torn into flying flesh and blood.

Behind Kunpeng was a vast, dark mass of demon troops. Their duties were clearly divided: the demons in front slaughtered humans, while those behind collected human flesh and blood.

They slaughtered their way from the outskirts of human settlements toward humanity's ancestral land.

Humanity's ancestral land.

Suiren Shi had already attained early Grand Unity Golden Immortal cultivation. Six-Eared Macaque and the others had also completed the task Xuan Yi had assigned them and were preparing to bid farewell to the Three Ancestors of Humanity.

But then, a blood-soaked human suddenly rushed inside.

"Human Ancestor, please save us!"

Seeing that the newcomer was covered in blood, Suiren Shi hurriedly took out some spiritual medicine to treat his injuries and asked, "What happened? What exactly has happened to humanity?"

With the aid of the spiritual medicine, the blood-soaked human recovered slightly.

"Reporting to the Human Ancestor, a massive Kunpeng is leading countless demons toward humanity's ancestral land. Not a single human has survived anywhere the demons have passed."

Suiren Shi asked in shock, "Are you certain it is Kunpeng?"

"Yes, Human Ancestor. Many clansmen saw him, and I only escaped by luck. Judging by their formation, they are coming to exterminate humanity!"

Hearing this, Six-Eared Macaque and the other two frowned slightly. They immediately said to the Three Ancestors of Humanity, "Master sent us to protect humanity. It seems this will be the final battle. We are willing to join the three of you in resisting the enemy!"

"We, on behalf of countless humans, thank the three of you for your great kindness."

The Three Ancestors of Humanity bowed deeply to Six-Eared Macaque and the others, then went forth to meet the demon race.
