Background / History
Di Jun cultivated in seclusion on the Sun Star before sensing an opportunity at Buzhou Mountain. Accompanied by his younger brother, Eastern Emperor Taiyi, he discovered the Heavenly Court and used it as the foundation for a new power. The brothers swore to the Heavenly Dao, established the Demon Race, and received merit that raised both to peak Grand Unity Golden Immortal. Di Jun assumed the position of Demon Emperor and used the River Diagram and Luo Book to suppress the race's Destiny. 11
The rapid growth of the Witch Race brought Di Jun into conflict with the Twelve Ancestral Witches, whose people preyed upon lesser demons. He declared the first Witch-Demon War after learning that the Demon Race risked losing its future generations to Witch predation. His duel with Di Jiang ended in a stalemate: Di Jiang's spatial movement and physical body prevented Di Jun from landing a decisive True Sun Fire attack, while the fire kept Di Jiang from approaching. 13
Following Kunpeng's advice, Di Jun pursued a Heavenly Marriage to strengthen the Demon Race's Destiny. Nuwa acted as matchmaker between him and the Tai Yin Star goddesses Xi He and Chang Xi. The wedding was interrupted by a Witch assault on the Heavenly Court, escalating the longstanding conflict. 17 18
After Hongyun received Primordial Violet Qi, Di Jun joined Kunpeng in pursuing him. Hongyun's self-destruction injured both attackers and caused the Primordial Violet Qi to disappear, leaving Di Jun frustrated in his attempt to seek Sainthood. 22
Facing the Witch Race's formidable bodies, Di Jun authorized the use of Human Race flesh and blood to forge a weapon capable of piercing Ancestral Witches. The resulting invasion nearly exterminated humanity until Xuan Yi and Nuwa intervened, severely injuring Di Jun and Taiyi and driving the Demon leaders away. 27 28
Di Jun later lost nine of his ten Golden Crow children to Hou Yi after Saint Zhunti created a gap in their Sun Star formation. Grief-stricken, he placed his surviving youngest son under Nuwa's protection and mobilized the Demon Race for a decisive war against the Witches. 29
In the final Witch-Demon War, Di Jun led the Grand Formation of the Stars and wielded the Witch-Slaying Sword against Di Jiang and Qiang Liang. Qiang Liang self-destructed to severely injure him; Di Jiang then attacked without regard for his life, and their mutual destruction killed Di Jun. Kunpeng escaped with Di Jun's River Luo Diagram. 30 31
