Background / History

Nuwa created the Human Race from five-colored soil through the Law of Creation. At birth, the humans addressed Nuwa as their Holy Mother and Gu Xi as their Holy Father; the Heavenly Dao acknowledged Gu Xi’s position and tied both figures to Human Race Destiny/Fortune. 7

Under Gu Xi’s direction, the newly born humans left the Buzhou Mountain region for the East Sea Coast, designated as the place of their rise. During the century-long journey, Gu Xi taught them the dangers of the Primordial World, hunting, gathering, medicine, fire use, clothing production, and house-building. The migration cost many lives but increased the population from several hundred thousand to more than one million. 12

The East Sea Coast became the foundation of early human civilization. The spread of the Four Seasons and Twenty-Four Solar Terms regulated agriculture, gathering, hunting, and daily life, while an alliance with the Dragon Race enabled exchanges of resources and cultivators. 26

The Human Race developed rapidly despite declining aptitude in later generations and repeated threats from nearby Gods, Demons, and rival races. The Martial Way gave mortals who could not cultivate the Immortal Dao a means of gaining extraordinary strength, greatly improving the race’s ability to survive disasters and warfare. 40 41

As Human Race Destiny/Fortune approached that of the Witch and Demon Races, both dominant races began considering suppression. Their pressure eventually drew the Human Race into open conflict, through which nine additional Zenith Heaven Golden Immortals emerged. 81 138

Anticipating a catastrophic Witch-Demon War and the arrival of the Saint era, Gu Xi ordered the main population to withdraw into the Thirty-Six Grotto-Heavens and Seventy-Two Blessed Lands. Illusion formations concealed the evacuation until the disappearance of billions of humans shocked the Primordial World. 161 163

After the Witch and Demon Races declined, the Human Race returned in force. Its armies reclaimed the East Sea Coast, the Ten Continents of the East Sea, and other former territories; within a century, it had recovered all of its prior lands and declared itself the foremost race of the Primordial Era. 215

The first generation of humans possesses exceptional aptitude, but later generations become increasingly acquired in nature. Most later-born humans lack the aptitude for conventional Immortal Dao cultivation. 27 40
