Tony: Did It Change When It Got to Me?
"Mr. Stark, don't assume that Benny will make the same arrogant and conceited mistakes as you."
Eunice's eyes shone brightly. "My program is perfectly sound, and it also possesses the power of the Mind Stone; there won't be any unexpected problems."
"... Okay, but please don't use the Mind Stone to read minds next time, okay?"
Tony instinctively took a step back. For a smart man like him, being mind-read was a very uncomfortable thing, because his mind was always unpredictable and could easily offend people.
"There's no need to read minds; your rudeness is written all over your face," Eunice said.
"Okay," Tony shrugged, feigning nonchalance, "Don't mind it, you know that's just how I am, I've already been very restrained by not giving you a nickname."
"Alright, let's not argue now."
Banner stepped in as a peacemaker, looking weakly at Eunice: "Leaving aside whether we could destroy an entire universe, even if we could, we couldn't do it. Taking away the life of a universe is too cruel."
"Indeed, this method of solving the problem is too wasteful of space resources." Otto also felt it was inappropriate.
Tony nodded, his mustache twitching. "Who remembers that Purple Potato who just wanted to wipe out half the universe and got taken care of by us? But we're even more ruthless than him now."
"Then what do you suggest we do?"
Eunice threw the question back at them.
Tony, with his quickest mind, suggested, "Why don't we use the Infinity Stones?"
"Ben has emphasized more than once that the Infinity Stones possess terrifying power, capable of easily Thanos the universe. If Thanos were to collect all the stones, wiping out half of all life would be a matter of a single thought for him. Now that all the stones are contained by the Galactic Plumbers, using the Infinity Stones should make it easy to resolve, right?"
"Very smart, but it's a pity."
Eunice shook her head. "The power of the Infinity Stones is unlikely to have an effect outside this universe. All I can do is release all their energy in an instant to destroy that universe. After that, the energy of all the stones will perish."
"?"
Tony's features contorted in disbelief; he found it utterly absurd.
"What's going on? Weren't they supposed to be all-powerful with the Infinity Stones? Why is it different for us?"
Not long ago, they were fighting tooth and nail for the super wishing machine, but now it's just a giant firework that explodes?
That's outrageous!
Banner patted him on the shoulder and comforted him, "Don't be sad, this is also recorded in the second travelogue."
It's like spending a fortune to pull for a top-tier character, only to have your power level nerfed as soon as the banner ends, as if it were a bug.
We can't do that.
Banner shook his head vigorously.
He couldn't do it, nor did he want to make annihilating all life in an entire universe his goal when researching weapons.
"This is the best solution I can offer, and everything depends on the safety of our own universe," Eunice said calmly. "Have you considered what would happen if we didn't destroy the other universe before the collision occurred?"
"... Both universes will be destroyed," Otto replied with difficulty.
"Wrong." Eunice shook her head.
"Only our universe will be destroyed."
Her words were a wake-up call.
Tony and his two companions were all intelligent people, and they immediately realized that in that Parallel Universe close to their own, there was also a group of people just as intelligent as them.
They might not be unable to detect the Collision Crisis; if they don't act, others will.
Like gladiators fighting each other in the arena, cowardice and hesitation will only lead to death.
"This is original sin," Eunice said calmly.
"In order to survive, living things must take other lives as food or nutrients; if they don't, they will die. You can choose to die, but you cannot choose to die on behalf of all life in the universe."
All three of them fell silent.
A crisis from another universe loomed over them like a shadow, making it hard for them to breathe.
Life is too heavy.
Whichever choice they make at this moment, it's as if they've personally killed the future of one of the universes.
"Isn't there any other way?"
Banner was still wavering, but Otto had already made up his mind. At this moment, he displayed a decisiveness that surpassed both Banner and Tony, looking at Eunice with unwavering resolve and saying, "Since you put it that way, then surely you have a way to create a weapon capable of destroying a universe?"
"Antimatter Annihilation Weapon."
With a wave of her hand, Eunice presented them with another design drawing and a large number of calculation formulas.
"Looks like you were prepared all along?" Tony asked in surprise.
"No, it's one of the contingency plans Benny left behind," Eunice explained. "You know, when Benny transforms into Grey Matter, he always has a lot of ideas popping into his head. Some of them are beneficial; he'll provide the key points to you or the scientists on Sakaar so you can conduct further research. Other ideas are very dangerous, and in those cases, he'll leave behind blueprints and theories, then seal them away in my brain."
Only Eunice's brain can do it.
Even an AI of the same level Azmuth, wouldn't work, because Azmuth's network is shared by the Galactic Plumbers, and there is indeed a possibility of it being hacked, even if it's only one in a billion.
But Eunice, relying on the Mind Stone, has a completely independent mind and cannot be controlled by others.
"Antimatter Annihilation Weapon are one of them."
Eunice explained, "By bringing antimatter into contact with its corresponding matter, the two can be converted into enormous energy. Just 1 gram of each substance is enough to destroy a city, far more powerful than the atomic bomb that hit Hiroshima. And these two substances happen to be particles that accelerate to their full potential..."
She looked at the Particle Collider behind the three of them. Using the energy of the gemstone to power the machine could solve the problem of obtaining the two substances. The next challenge was how to store them, otherwise it would only lead to self-destruction.
"This is insane." Banner wiped his face; his mental state was on the verge of collapse, and even his skin was starting to turn blue. Fortunately, Eunice's ability kept his mind at peace, preventing him from going berserk.
Antimatter Annihilation Weapon are terrifying; if they're not careful, they might Oblivion themselves before they even finish the weapon.
And this was just one of the contingency plans Ben had sealed away for Eunice.
"Could you please tell me how many other contingency plans he has that we don't know about?"
Otto also looked at Eunice and said, "Eunice, researching Antimatter Annihilation Weapon is still a bit too dangerous. Is there a safer way?"
A strange expression flickered across Eunice's exquisitely sculpted face. "There are many more..." She rattled off dozens of contingency plans, such as the "Omo Meteorite Core," which was essentially a self-destruct system for the Little Broken Watch, as well as the Annihilarrgh, the Chronosapien Time Bomb...
"Actually, I highly recommend the Annihilarrgh and the Chronosapien Time Bomb," Eunice introduced as if she were a salesperson. "The former can destroy all structures in the universe once activated, safely and without pollution. The latter is more convenient; it can erase all timelines with a single click, equally annihilating all Parallel Universe and completely eliminating the Collision Crisis."
Indeed, the Collision Crisis is gone, but so is the Multiverse.
The three looked at each other, Eunice felt very sorry. "Unfortunately, even the theory behind these two weapons is not yet perfect, so it's impossible for the few of us to complete them."
"No pity, no pity," Tony quickly shook his head.
After discovering that Eunice had the idea of eliminating the entire universe to prevent future troubles, he felt that destroying just one universe was more acceptable.
"I still can't agree." Banner wanted to back out.
"Don't do that, Banner," Otto advised.
He knew that being a hero came at a price; killing a wicked enemy was not the same as killing an innocent person, but in this situation, there was no other choice.
However, Tony stopped him from continuing.
"It doesn't matter whether you join or not. To be honest, I can handle this all by myself," Tony said with a hint of sarcasm. "Do you know who's the smartest here? Me!"
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, all in one look!
Eunice glanced at him, somewhat surprised.
She realized that Tony was deliberately saying those things to provoke Banner, but not to get Banner to stay; rather, he wanted Banner to back out voluntarily.
Sure enough, Banner didn't sigh. He took off his white lab coat and left the lab without a word.
The awkward atmosphere eased somewhat.
Otto remained silent for a moment before asking, "Is this a good idea?"
"What's good or bad about it? I told you, it's the same whether he's here or not." Tony glanced at Otto and said arrogantly, "You're the same. If you should leave, then leave. I can complete the Antimatter Annihilation Weapon by myself. Having another person would only get in the way."
Otto wasn't fooled; for the first time, he felt that Tony's playboy image had become somewhat more admirable.
"You think that by driving us all away, you can single-handedly shoulder the guilt of the executioner and play the hero?"
Tony hadn't expected Otto to see through his thoughts. He paused for a moment before replying, "Anyway, I'm an executioner. Haven't you heard of the infamous Arms Dealer Stark?"
"Then you'll need someone to help you sell the weapons." Otto smiled, firmly standing on Tony's side.
He has always believed that science exists to bring happiness to the world.
But if the world itself ceases to exist, then everything loses its value.
He will stand firmly on the side of his own universe, and as for the other universe that might be destroyed, that's for Otto of that universe to worry about.
Whether the other party is hesitant or as resolute as him, it doesn't matter. Even if his own universe is ultimately destroyed, it doesn't matter. This is the law of nature: survival of the fittest. He only needs to do his best to do better.
The two reached an agreement, while the other went their separate ways.
However, these were things that ordinary Plumbers couldn't access. They assumed that Tony and his team had made an important discovery, so they each left the Sky Station.
In the universe, however, the Galactic Plumbers's energy is mostly tied up by the Incursean and various other forces.
After listening to all the reports, Ben sent a message to Eunice, learning that she, Tony, and Otto were currently in Wakanda. Tony believed that Vibranium was the most suitable container for storing antimatter.
When in doubt, consult Vibranium.
After learning of the seriousness of the situation, the Wakanda Galactic Plumbers branch also joined the plan nationwide, using advanced technology to monitor the cosmic barrier at all times.
Black Panther's sister, Black Monkey Shuri, also joined the research.
After observing for several days, they discovered that the timelines seemed to be in a very delicate state of equilibrium, like a bowl stuck in the glass inside a cabinet—it looks intact, but it will fall down as soon as it is opened.
Schrödinger's bowl belongs to...
But regardless, the fact that the balance is still maintained is a good thing.
At least not yet to the point of destroying another universe.
"Multiverse Collision crisis sounds like a tricky situation. If you're busy, you don't need to worry about us for now," Faora said.
She knows what's important and what's urgent.
Collision Crisis occurs, rebuilding Krypton wouldn't make any difference.
"Don't worry." Ben squeezed the Little Broken Watch in his hand. If all else fails, they can just have Alien X appear.
"Let's rebuild Krypton first, and I still have a ton of things to do." Ben gently rubbed his forehead.
The reason he didn't immediately go to find Enara and Oyana was because Ben hadn't forgotten that he still had to "switch shifts" with him. If he entered Alien X's consciousness space, No-Watch Ben might immediately pull him into the switch.
Whether he changes or not is a minor matter; he doesn't mind staying in that space for a while, since he and the No-Watch Ben are essentially the same person anyway.
The problem is that the No-Watch Ben doesn't have watches.
The other party is a physical clone that exists based on the Symbiote Super-Kill, not a simple exchange of consciousness.
We need to create another Omnitrix.
Creating a low-spec Little Broken Watch of the watch wouldn't be a problem for Ben now. The watch's transformation function wouldn't have any issues; at most, the heroes would revert to their original versions, and the watch's other advanced features besides transformation might not be fully replicated.
Let's go to Sakaar first.
After inquiring about Peter's whereabouts and learning that his little brother hadn't gone to space with Norman but was instead living as his good neighbor in New York, and that Looma, Mary Jane, and Felicia had actually gone to space as a group, Ben decided not to stay on Earth.
But I never expected that Mary Jane and Felicia would get along so well with Looma; I thought it would be good enough if the three of them didn't fight.
Now, with Mera included, there are enough people for four to play mahjong.
Ben was unaware that, with Eunice and Wanda included, they could actually form two tables for playing Dou Dizhu (a popular Chinese card game).
Brunnhilde: Wait, count me in!
Speaking of Brunnhilde, she happens to be stationed on Sakaar at the moment.
She was quite surprised to see Ben, after all, the King of Sakaar spent most of his time away from Sakaar, and the entire Sakaar, including the many star systems under the jurisdiction of the Galactic Plumbers, was managed by Security Officer.
