History

Pangu opened the Primordial Wilderness after deciding that creating a world was his route toward transcendence. He split Chaos apart, supported the newly divided Heaven and Earth, and incorporated the bodies and origin Laws of the fallen Chaos Demon Gods into the realm’s foundation. 8 9

Once Heaven and Earth had taken shape, Pangu declared the world’s name and transformed himself into it. His breath became wind and clouds, his voice thunder, his eyes the sun and moon, and his body formed the land and myriad things. His spine became the central mountain, while his heart settled within Zhou Mountain and formed Pangu Hall and Hong Yuan Hall. 10

The early Primordial Wilderness was scarred by the Grievance and Fiendish Energy left behind by the Chaos Demon Gods. Over three kalpas, this corruption gradually thinned and vegetation began to emerge; later, reincarnated Chaos Demon Gods and beings naturally evolved from Heaven and Earth populated the vast realm. 11 21

The realm’s Heavenly Dao emerged after its inhabitants constructed array foundations throughout the Outer Heavens. A form condensed from the world’s rules manifested, declared itself the Heavenly Dao, received the Great Dao’s acknowledgment, and replaced the Great Dao Laws within the Primordial Wilderness with Heavenly Dao Laws. 31 32

Structure

• Zhou Mountain — The central mountain of the Primordial Wilderness, formed from Pangu’s spine and possessing the densest spiritual energy after the division into ten regions. 10 150
• Pangu Hall — Formed where Pangu’s heart, carrying most of his essence blood, fell within Zhou Mountain. Its heartbeat continues to influence the world’s foundational Laws, balance, and vitality. 10 713
• Hong Yuan Hall — A second palace formed beside Pangu Hall and spiritually connected to Hong Yuan. 10 19
• Ten Lands — The realm was divided into ten spiritual-energy regions after Hong Yuan redistributed vast numbers of innate spiritual roots. 150
• Outer Heavens — The harsh exterior region from which the Four Directions God Protection Array draws Chaos Qi and refines it into Heaven and Earth spiritual energy. 31 34

Governance and Protection

Heavenly Dao

The Heavenly Dao is a manifestation of the Primordial Wilderness’ innumerable rules rather than an ordinary living being. It governs the destiny of all beings and the guiding principles of the cosmos, acting solely for the realm’s benefit. 31 32 54

The world can exhibit resistance toward events or individuals essential to its development. Hong Yuan sensed this resistance when he considered killing Luohu, while reincarnated Chaos Demon Gods felt rejection until they severed their identities from their former Chaos incarnations. 19 21

Four Directions God Protection Array

Hong Yuan’s Four Directions God Protection Array unifies the realm into a more durable whole.

• Absorbs Chaos Qi from the Outer Heavens and turns it into pure spiritual energy. 34
• Distributes most localized damage across the entire Primordial Wilderness, preventing ordinary attacks from harming its foundation. 34
• Requires guardian gods at the east, west, south, and north, with Zhou Mountain serving as the center. 34
• Ancestral Dragon, Yuan Feng, and First Qilin later integrated the array’s Dao fruit and assumed guardian positions, coinciding with a major strengthening of the realm’s origin. 164

Relationships

• Pangu — Creator and original foundation of the Primordial Wilderness; he transformed his body into the realm after opening Heaven and Earth. 8 10
• Hong Yuan — Pangu’s younger brother and the realm’s principal protector. The name “Primordial Wilderness” incorporates a character from Hong Yuan’s name, and Hong Yuan regards the world as his home. 15 54
• Heavenly Dao — The governing consciousness and rule-system evolved from the Primordial Wilderness; it acts for the realm’s welfare and governs its inhabitants’ fate. 31 32 54
• Great Dao — Initially presided over the newly formed world, acknowledged the Heavenly Dao at its birth, and subsequently withdrew as Heavenly Dao Laws replaced Great Dao Laws. 32
• Three Thousand Chaos Demon Gods — Their slain bodies and Laws were merged into the world by Pangu, becoming part of its foundation; their residual Grievance and Fiendish Energy later produced the Fierce Beasts. 9 24

• Pangu named the world after opening it, and Yang Mei later realized that its name shares a character with Hong Yuan’s. 10 15
• The Primordial Wilderness differs from the Primordial Universe: Pangu created the former through World Creation and self-transformation, while the latter’s Great Thousand Worlds were originally the separate dojos of Chaos Demon Gods. 455
