Background

The Zhonghua Family frames its national identity around an inherited spirit of sacrifice, independence, and resistance. Its memorial tradition honors earlier generations who fought for national survival, with new Kaiju-war casualties added to that legacy 48 49.

Its territory and population are defended through military regions, diplomatic offices, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Jaeger Combat Department. During the Kaiju crisis, its forces operate from coastal Shatterdome bases and maintain defenses around wormhole sectors in the East and South Seas 57 159 164.

Jaeger Combat Department

The Zhonghua Family established a Jaeger force after Kaiju attacks threatened its coastal cities. Dalian Shatterdome Base housed its first Jaeger, Taishan, while Hong Kong later became the publicly identified headquarters of the Zhonghua Family Jaeger Combat Department 4 111.

Public Recognition

The Jaeger Combat Department initially maintained secrecy around its facilities and pilots. Before National Day, the Zhonghua Family leadership decided that public morale required its defenders to be recognized instead of remaining anonymous 109.

The subsequent military review publicly revealed the Hong Kong and Dalian Shatterdome bases, Crimson Typhoon's Tang Brothers, and Taishan's pilots, Xiao Shou and Xie Yushan 111 112 113.

The Zhonghua Family treats the protection of its citizens and overseas nationals as a central state responsibility.
