Spider-Man Intervenes

Roar! Kitty did not have an easy landing either. Her rolling attack had still been struck by the Goblin Glider. Though her belly had not been pierced, she had crashed into the Green Goblin and been rammed by the Goblin Glider, leaving her dizzy and disoriented.

So when Spider-Man came over to check on her, she answered with a roar that made the street-level superhero jerk back and raise a hand in front of himself. "Whoa, good kitty. Easy."

Spider-Man could not be blamed for checking on Henry first. Even without looking in a mirror, Henry could roughly guess that this supposedly bulletproof man had been blasted into a miserable state, looking like it was a miracle he was still alive. That was why Spider-Man had come to show concern.

Besides Spider-Man, Henry's Super Hearing picked up more police officers converging on the area.

Someone must have called the police earlier. Their response had been faster than expected—far beyond expectations, really. Henry could hear at least four police vehicles arriving, short only of deploying ESU, the emergency unit similar to SWAT.

But no matter how fast the police were, they could not beat Spider-Man, who tapped into police channels. That was why Spider-Man had arrived first.

Still, he had run here. After all, there were no tall buildings in Central Park for him to attach webs to and swing through the air.

Before Henry could explain his situation to Spider-Man, he saw the Green Goblin move and immediately warned him. "Watch out! He's coming again!"

Two more Pumpkin Bombs flew over, while the Goblin Glider restarted and flew toward the Green Goblin, who had broken free of the webbing.
