Background

Kita is initially approached as a popular, outwardly gentle classmate whom Hitori Goto and Shiko hope to recruit. She is revealed to be Kessoku Band’s former “runaway guitarist,” having withdrawn because she lacked guitar ability. 4

After arriving in the other world, she identifies herself as Kessoku Band’s vocalist and guitarist. The group’s official formation grants her and the other band members a stat increase. 6

During the underground expedition, Kita awakens alone beside a skeleton, discovers an exit, and later reunites with Nijika and Ryo in tears after fearing she had been abandoned. 14 The ashes of a predecessor subsequently possess her, awakening powerful flame-based skills. 14

Personality

Kita is energetic, socially confident, and eager to involve herself in whatever the group is doing. She eagerly joins Shiko’s cosplay outing, brings a camera to document it, and readily embraces dramatic spell names and poses. 7 14

Beneath that enthusiasm, she is emotionally sensitive. Being isolated in the underground ruins frightens her deeply, and Ichiri’s feelings for Shiko leave Kita hurt and withdrawn for a time. 14 45 She eventually voices her helplessness to Shiko rather than abandoning their friendship. 45

She is ambitious about music and wants to become someone who can illuminate Ichiri in return. Her determination drives her guitar practice, combat training, songwriting, and eventual willingness to lead Kessoku Band through a crisis. 34 98 99

Kita can also be serious and dependable when the situation demands it. She supports Shiko’s cannon project, pilots the hot-air balloon, and later emphasizes that a band must support its struggling members. 12 38 115
