Background
In her previous life, Shiko was a Chinese girl who taught herself Japanese, struggled with social anxiety, and immersed herself in anime, music, and idol fandom. She had played piano as a child, but stopped after a friend’s death. Wanting to become like her idols, she overcame her anxiety to take a part-time job and save for a keyboard. She died saving a child from an oncoming car while returning with the keyboard she had finally bought, wishing for another life with her idols. 1 7 127
She transmigrated into the body of an ordinary Japanese student preparing to attend Shuka High School. Realizing that Hitori Goto attended the same school, Shiko set out to meet “Guitar Hero,” only to expose Hitori’s secret identity and flee from their first encounter. She later apologized, joined the Drama Club to get closer to Hitori, began sharing lunches with her, and wrote an original song for her to play. 1 2
Personality
Shiko is an excitable idol otaku whose enthusiasm for bands, fictional characters, and dramatic scenarios regularly overwhelms her social anxiety. She is especially prone to chuunibyou-style declarations, elaborate self-assigned titles, cosplay, and voice imitation; she once dressed as Homura Akemi because she believed imitating a “high-tier character” might make her stronger. 7
Although initially passive and uncomfortable around strangers, she becomes proactive when someone needs help. Her materialization ability makes her the group’s cook, quartermaster, engineer, and frequent problem-solver, while her imagination drives unconventional plans such as building a cannon to escape a giant creature’s interior. 6 12
Shiko is conscious that she performs versions of herself for others. She admits that part of her early friendliness with Hitori was an act, believing that two socially anxious people would be “redundant” in the same relationship. This uncertainty over which persona is her “real” self becomes a continuing source of stress. 7 50
Her protectiveness can become ruthless. She is willing to manipulate circumstances, risk herself, or use extreme plans to protect companions and preserve their shared future. Even so, she is deeply affected when those actions hurt people she cares about, particularly Karen. 80 88 89
Abilities & Skills
Fantasy Boundary
Shiko’s innate ability, [Fantasy Boundary], materializes things she can imagine and structurally visualize. 6 23
- Creates food, clothing, tools, temporary shelters, weapons, armor, and defensive structures. 6 31 52
- Builds large-scale transport and infrastructure, including hot-air balloons, rafts, an airship, a small aircraft, and the Beach House. 24 26 44 107
- Initially cannot control a creation after it appears, and her early creations persist only briefly. 6 12
- Her limited understanding of complex structures restricts what she can create accurately; this notably affects machinery and fashion materials. 14 31
- Later uses materialized weapons and constructs in battle, including flying swords, shields, metal barriers, and a mecha. 50 52 117
Tianhe Tongxuan Fumo Baolu
[Tianhe Tongxuan Fumo Baolu] is a jade-slip inheritance that records abilities Shiko has witnessed. 14
- Replicates seen skills for Shiko’s exclusive use; other people cannot activate her slips. 14
- Initially requires breaking a copied slip to activate its stored effect and is limited to five maintained slips. 14
- Copies Nijika’s healing starlight and Kita’s destructive flame technique, which Shiko names [Ten Directions Illumination Sun Purification True Talisman]. 14
- Eventually allows non-destructive activation and repeated transfer of effects between slips, enabling continuous power systems for the airship. 44
- Provides effectively open-ended versatility as long as Shiko has allies and abilities to study. 36
Music Production and Keyboard Performance
Shiko composes original music and develops into Kessoku Band’s keyboardist. 2 23
- Her early compositions give Hitori material to play and become the basis of their musical connection. 2 13
- Creates scores that can empower performers; one completed score raises Kessoku Band’s Filth Resistance and instrument skill levels. 49
- Uses keyboards and musical performance as part of combat and stage construction, including during her battle with Nana Ohba. 129 130
- Her keyboard technique reaches Lv9 within months of beginning serious practice. 58

- Uses multiple simulated selves during Operation Caesar to communicate covertly while Hina manipulates the group’s memories. 86
- Dividing Mental Strength among personalities significantly lowers her own available reserves. 72
Soul Perception and Telepathy
After copying Hina’s ability, Shiko can perceive soul projections and intrude upon the thoughts of others. 85
- Uses soul perception to investigate Hina’s altered memories and organize resistance against her control. 85 86
- Her own mind is shielded by the giraffe, preventing Hina from controlling her in the same manner. 85 86
- She hesitates to examine Ichiri’s and Kita’s thoughts after sensing that doing so may have consequences. 85
Reproduction
Following her “reproduction,” Shiko’s copied powers merge into a more direct and flexible form. 129 130
- No longer needs jade slips as a medium to copy or manifest powers. 130
- Can simulate abilities inspired by people across multiple worlds, rather than merely reproducing previously stored skills. 130
- Creates a full stage environment during her duel with Nana, using music and manifested powers to control the battle’s setting. 130
