Background / History

Shiko first recognizes Ichiri as the online guitarist Guitar Hero, causing their initial encounter to become an exchange of panicked apologies. After reconciling, the two agree to call one another “Ichiri” and “Shiko,” beginning Ichiri’s first close friendship with someone outside her usual comfort zone 2.

A performance by Roselia inspires Ichiri to pursue band activities. Nijika recruits her as a temporary guitarist for Kessoku Band, but her first live performance is undermined by extreme anxiety and a lack of ensemble experience 3. After the group is transported to another world, Ichiri becomes Kessoku Band’s guitarist when the band formally forms at CiRCLE 6.

During the group’s survival efforts, Ichiri develops into a dependable combatant. Her water control restrains enemies, supports travel, and combines effectively with her teammates’ abilities. When she and Shiko are separated from the others after the cannon launch, Ichiri keeps Shiko’s sheet music and their photographs sewn into her jacket, revealing how much their friendship means to her 8 13.

Ichiri later suffers writer’s block and isolates herself while trying to write lyrics. With encouragement from the band, she finds inspiration in her attachment to Kessoku Band and completes “Before Waking Up,” a song expressing her feelings for the group 9 17 18.
