Background / History

Tongtian encountered Xian Junyu shortly after the latter transformed from the world's first celestial energy. He brought the newly formed cultivator to Mount Kunlun and accepted him as his sole disciple. 1

After attaining Sainthood, Tongtian founded the Intercepting Sect and tasked Xian Junyu with helping guide prospective disciples to Mount Kunlun. He later accepted Duobao as his second personal disciple, followed by Jin Ling as his third. 1 6 8

Under Tongtian's leadership, the sect expanded rapidly. He assembled its personal disciples, opened his teachings to a broad range of cultivators, and eventually relocated the sect to Golden Ao Island, where he established Biyou Palace and announced a future Dao sermon. 9 108

Tongtian is a stern but deeply invested master. He openly scolds Xian Junyu for laziness, deception, poor discipline, and gossip, yet his criticism is consistently paired with concern for the disciple's cultivation, safety, and future. He was even willing to release Xian Junyu to Laozi or Yuanshi if another master could guide him better. 6 16 206

He is fiercely proud of Xian Junyu's accomplishments and highly protective of his disciples. Tongtian repeatedly intervenes when Xian Junyu faces danger, including confronting Yuanshi over what he sees as bullying his disciple. 12 151 245

Tongtian is also combative and prideful, especially when Yuanshi insults the Intercepting Sect's origins or disciples.
