Background / History
Zhifeng Clan and the journey to Penglai
Luofeng was born into the Human Race's Zhifeng Clan as the grandson of its leader, Shuofeng. Though his aptitude was not considered exceptional, Shi Xian found that he had already reached Refining Qi into Spirit at a young age and was qualified to enter the Intercepting Sect's lineage. Shi Xian also discovered that Luofeng was destined to become Xian Junyu's first disciple. 90
Determined to find a path for both his tribe and the Human Race, Luofeng accepted the trial of traveling tens of millions of miles to Bihai Immortal Mountain. He left the Zhifeng Clan despite the journey's danger, while Shi Xian secretly escorted him from the shadows. Over five hundred years, Luofeng advanced to Refining Void and arrived at Bihai Immortal Mountain in ragged, dust-covered clothing. 91 92 93
Xian Junyu's first disciple
After accidentally wishing Xian Junyu a lifespan “equal to Heaven”—an expression that could be understood as a curse of early death—Luofeng apologized and explained that he sought immortality, protection for the Zhifeng Clan, and a future for the Human Race. Xian Junyu accepted him as his first personal disciple, making him a third-generation Intercepting Sect disciple and Tongtian's first grand-disciple. 94
Xian Junyu provided Luofeng with the Great Dao True Scripture of Shangqing, a Nine-Revolving Golden Elixir, extensive instruction, and a Soul Lantern containing part of his soul. The lantern was intended to preserve a chance of survival if Luofeng died in the coming tribulation. 94
Predestined calamity
Tongtian divined that Luofeng would face a heaven-defying act that would lead to his demise. Xian Junyu knew of this fate and repeatedly urged Luofeng to cultivate diligently, while privately preparing a possible way out for him. 96 105 112
Luofeng's concern for the Human Race grew into an overriding purpose. He openly criticized Xuandu for remaining detached from Human Race affairs despite being a powerful human cultivator, arguing that fear of failure was no excuse for inaction. 163
Appearance
After reaching Bihai Immortal Mountain, Luofeng initially appeared as a travel-worn beggar, dressed in tattered, dust-covered clothes and carrying a beast-skin bag. Xian Junyu later restored his appearance and clothed him in a green immortal robe, leaving him with the bearing of a refined young gentleman. 93 94
- Beggar-like and disheveled after his five-hundred-year journey. 93
- Wore a green immortal robe after formally entering Xian Junyu's lineage. 94
- Could disguise himself as a kindly old man when assisting Yang Jian and Yang Chan. 218
Personality
Luofeng is defined by his loyalty to the Human Race. His original reason for seeking Xian Junyu was not personal longevity alone, but the hope of protecting the Zhifeng Clan and finding a future for humanity. He remains willing to risk his life, cultivation, and relationship with his master for that goal. 90 94 222
He is respectful and obedient toward Xian Junyu, whom he reveres as both master and Human Ancestor. Early in his discipleship, he followed instructions without question and trusted that his master would not harm him. 94 95
His devotion can become stubbornness and impulsiveness. Luofeng confronts Xuandu over Human Race affairs, clashes verbally with Xuanming, and refuses to abandon the Human Race even after Xian Junyu warns that doing so will likely cost him his life. 163 215 222
