Terrifying sounds of bones cracking rang out like beans popping in a wok. Half of the middle-aged man's head instantly twisted out of shape, while his neck stretched more than a foot. Wumu's terrifying fist force shattered him in an instant, sending him soaring into the sky—over two hundred meters high.
It took several breaths before the middle-aged man finally plummeted straight down from the sky, crashing heavily into the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.
The entrance to the city-state fell deathly silent. All the Yin Clan Warriors raised their weapons at the same time, locking onto Wumu. At the same time, large groups of heavily armored Yin Clan Warriors poured out of the secret passages on both sides of the city-state gates. They formed battle arrays, linked their heavy shields into one solid wall, hefted greatswords and spears, and advanced toward Wumu step by step.
Low warning bells rang out from the pyramids on both sides. Blood-colored light flickered through the Blood Mist Barrier above the Yin Clan City-State, and countless sounds of things tearing through the air rapidly approached from afar. In just a few blinks, hundreds of streaks of light descended from the sky, as large groups of Yin Clan experts in blood-red robes rushed over.
Leading the charge was none other than Yin Xuejiao's father, Yin Jiwu—the second-ranked member of the Ji generation in the Yin Clan's "Heaven and Earth Limitless, Blood Sea Universe" seniority sequence. He was not merely the second-ranked direct descendant of the Yin Clan's Ji generation; he was also the master of the Yin Clan's Blood War Hall, wielding all of the Yin Clan's external armed forces. He was a genuine power-holder within the Yin Clan.
Dragging dozens of blood-colored afterimages behind him, Yin Jiwu rushed to Yin Xuejiao's side. He seized Yin Xuejiao's body and stared, eyes splitting with rage, at the transparent bloody hole in Yin Xuejiao's chest!
When Yin Xuejiao's body moved, a patch of cloth near his lower abdomen suddenly crumbled into fine powder and drifted away, revealing a purplish-blue footprint on his fair, flat stomach. What was horrifying was that the footprint bulged a full inch from Yin Xuejiao's abdomen. It was clear how much damage that kick had inflicted on his body!
"Who injured my son?" Yin Jiwu roared furiously.
Everyone from the Yin Clan present looked toward Yin Xuege. His right palm was still smeared with a great deal of blood, and droplets fell from his fingertips onto the ground one after another.
"Wretched bastard!" Yin Jiwu did not even bother wondering how Yin Xuege had returned safely from the Great Berlin City-State. He only knew that this bastard had once again gravely injured the son he was proudest of—and this time, in front of ten times more members of the clan than when he had severely wounded Yin Xuejiao during the practical combat lesson at the Children's Hall!
There was no doubt that this was yet another heavy slap across Yin Jiwu's face!
His son—the son he was most proud of, the son who had broken through to become a Star Warrior at fourteen, the youngest Star Warrior in the Yin Clan's history, the most gifted genius in the Yin Clan, the offspring born of his, Yin Jiwu's, noble bloodline—had once again, once again, been gravely injured by this bastard Yin Xuege!
"Yin~ Xue~ge! You seek death!" A dense blood-colored flame blazed around Yin Jiwu. The clothing on his back suddenly exploded, and a pair of faint blood-colored bat wings rapidly spread open behind him. The bat wings, roughly five meters wide, beat heavily against the air. A howling gale immediately swept through a hundred-meter radius, sending many low-ranking Yin Clan Warriors tumbling miserably across the ground.
Wumu shifted sideways and stepped in front of Yin Xuege. His tall, sturdy body easily blocked the onrushing gale. The wind stirred up by Yin Jiwu only ruffled Wumu's long hair. His silver hair danced in the wind, and the rough-featured Wumu seemed to gain several more points of an arrogant, peerless, all-conquering aura.
"Hey, stinky bat, you're Yin Jiwu, right? Long time no see!"
Without a doubt, Wumu was extremely skilled at driving people into a towering rage and exceptionally good at stirring up hatred.
Spraying spit everywhere, Wumu pointed at Yin Jiwu and laughed loudly. "Remember your old friend? Fifty years ago, in the Alps, the great Wumu who fought you for that Thousand-Eyed Giant Divine Wood?"
Wumu gave Yin Jiwu a flippant whistle, then twisted his butt forcefully. "If you've forgotten the great Wumu's illustrious reputation, do you still remember your old friend Wumu—the one who pierced your butt with a spear on the Alps?"
Yin Xuege looked at Wumu with an odd expression. Had this big wolf gone crazy again? But he'd pierced Yin Jiwu's butt with a spear? Hmm, from what angle and in what position had he done it? How thick was that spear? How far had he thrust it in? Yin Xuege and more than ninety percent of the Yin Clan members present simultaneously conjured countless bloody, indecent scenes in their minds!
Yin Jiwu froze for a moment, then his pale face turned blood-red. He pointed at Wumu, stammering with his mouth opening and closing, unable to say a word for a long while. After quite some time—long enough for the Yin Clan experts behind him to grow impatient—he finally managed to squeeze an enraged roar from his throat.
"Yin Xuege! You dare collude with outsiders and grievously injure a Yin Clan Juvenile! Are you trying to rebel?"
A sound tore through the air, and Yin Jihuang likewise arrived quietly with a large group of Yin Clan experts. He eyed Wumu, whose long hair fluttered in the wind, then cast an eerie smile at Yin Xuege, who stood calmly composed. Without saying a word, he remained at the back, smiling as he tucked both hands into his sleeves.
Seeing Yin Jihuang arrive, and seeing representatives from several other major factions within the Yin Clan present as well, Yin Xuege slowly nodded and laughed loudly.
"Second Uncle, I'm not trying to rebel. I only wanted Second Uncle to know that I came back alive."
"The people from the Great Berlin City-State failed to kill me. It's just a pity that the two warriors escorting me may never return."
Yin Jiwu was so furious that his head spun. He shrieked hoarsely, "Failing to complete the mission assigned by the External Affairs Hall is itself a crime! You even dared to assault a direct descendant of the main lineage. You—you—you are courting death!"
"Courting death? No!" In front of several thousand Yin Clan members, Yin Xuege performed an action that sent their souls flying out of their bodies.
Trailing several afterimages, Yin Xuege swiftly retreated. After a few flashes, he rushed beyond the area covered by the Blood Mist Barrier.
Warm sunlight poured over Yin Xuege's body. Under the incredulous gazes of everyone present, he simply stood there quietly in the sunlight!
The sunlight that was deadly enough to kill members of the Blood Demon Clan did not harm Yin Xuege in the slightest. Bathed in golden light, his tender face still wore a trace of a relaxed, comfortable smile.
"I accidentally discovered that I'm a Sunwalker!" Yin Xuege looked at Yin Jiwu, whose face had abruptly turned deathly pale, and gave him an odd, tight-lipped smile. With slowly spreading satisfaction, Yin Xuege said coldly, "I want to see the Ancestor, or any of the clan elders!"
"I want to appeal. I was betrayed during this External Affairs Hall mission!"
"According to the clan's prohibitory laws, anyone who betrays a direct descendant of the main lineage should be sentenced to death by being burned by sunlight!"
Yin Xuege smiled brilliantly, and all the Yin Clan members present cried out in disbelief at the same time.
