Background / History

Yin Xuejiao was raised as a favored legitimate son of the Yin Clan and the pride of Yin Jiwu, the Blood War Hall Master. He viewed Yin Xuege—his illegitimate half-brother—as beneath him, repeatedly calling him a bastard and taking pleasure in denying him status, cultivation time, and dignity. He also treated Blood Slaves as disposable possessions, including claiming two captured girls for his amusement and openly feeding on a servant girl. 1 2

At fourteen, Yin Xuejiao became the youngest Star Warrior in the history of the Children's Hall. During his first combat lesson as a formal warrior, he used his superior speed to repeatedly cut Yin Xuege's joints, tendons, and flesh while Yin Jiying presented the assault as a lesson for the other disciples. He exhausted his Essence Blood, however, allowing Yin Xuege to counterattack and nearly sever his neck. 3 4

His recovery was supported by unusually generous Essence Blood Potions, raising him to three Essence Blood drops. Humiliated by the defeat, he ordered his steward Yin Jihuan to devise a way to kill Yin Xuege without implicating him, threatening Jihuan's son to ensure obedience. 6

Yin Xuejiao waited at the city-state gate expecting news of Yin Xuege's death during the Great Berlin mission. Instead, Yin Xuege returned alive and seriously wounded him in public with a Blood Skill, piercing his chest and sending him flying with a kick. 22 23

Before the Yin Clan martial arts competition, Yin Jiwu warned Yin Xuejiao that he had to take first place or lose his position as Jiwu's son. Despite reaching the high-ranking Night Warrior level through his father's support, Yin Xuejiao was unable to gauge Yin Xuege's abilities and was decisively beaten; Yin Xuege shattered his wrist, broke numerous bones, and threw him from the stage. When Yin Xuege defeats him, his pride turns into obsessive resentment: he vows to kill him, seeks covert means to arrange his death, and reacts with fear and disbelief whenever Yin Xuege demonstrates unexpected strength. 4 6 22

He is also deeply vulnerable to Yin Jiwu's expectations. The threat of being replaced by his younger brother and having his mother displaced leaves him terrified before the martial arts competition. 29
