Yin Clan's Flying Magic Chariot slowly approached Fanlu'er City.
Clad in fully enclosed battle armor that completely shut out the sunlight, the Yin Clan Warriors filed down from the chariot. Each held a Crystal Weapon shimmering with multicolored radiance, faint blood mist constantly billowing from their bodies as they marched into the city at an unhurried pace.
Fanlu'er City had a population of over a million. Once the city fell to the Yin Clan, it would be the largest human settlement they had conquered in recent decades. A million Blood Servants and Blood Slaves would also be a considerable haul for the Yin Clan as it was now.
Every Yin Clan warrior wore a savage grin, their cold gazes fixed on the steadily approaching city. Several leading Yin Clan Counts laughed smugly again and again—this was how it should have been from the start. They should have targeted human settlements with populations of over a million long ago! They had always attacked human cultivation villages in the past; how much could they possibly gain from those?
Shrill gunfire and explosions rang out across Fanlu'er City. The Yin Clan's Blood Servant army that had entered the city had already exchanged fire with the human soldiers. The local soldiers and militia of Fanlu'er City had long since fled in terror, but the elite soldiers and hunters from the Great Berlin City-State had launched a counterattack under the command of several elite officers.
A brutal street battle began. Relying on their individual strength and superior equipment, the Yin Clan's Blood Servant army beat the resistance forces back step by step. In particular, led by a certain rampaging giant wolf, the Yin Clan's Blood Servant army broke through countless barricades and soon reached the square at the very center of the city.
The Hell Three-Headed Dragon Eagles in the sky let out shrill roars. The Yin Clan Barons riding those vicious demonic birds did not attack, nor did the Blood Puppets beside them. The Three-Headed Dragon Eagles alone shrieked as they dove from the sky, then opened their great jaws and spat out streams of scorching flame.
The blazing fire washed over Fanlu'er City's streets again and again, forcing the officers, soldiers, and hunters to flee in disarray. Many buildings throughout the city burst into flames, and amid the roaring firelight and black smoke came Wumu's triumphant screech.
"Fennice, my little beauty, don't run! Hahaha, I see you! You can't escape! Oh, oh, don't run! If you run away, do you think your Grand Arbiter will let you off easily? He'll spank your bottoms until they bloom, won't he?"
In Fanlu'er City, Bright and the others, who had been fleeing in panic, suddenly stopped. Then they slowly turned around.
Although the Yin Clan's terrifying Mortar Cannons had frightened them out of their wits for a moment, Bright and the others were elites who wielded miraculous powers after all. They quickly recovered from their panic and fear, remembering the heavy responsibility they bore.
The Grand Arbiters of the Great Berlin City-State had sent them to lead a large army in reinforcing Fanlu'er City. If they abandoned tens of thousands of elite soldiers and the million citizens of Fanlu'er City and simply fled back, wouldn't they be sent to the stake and burned alive? Fire Queen Fainlan was no softhearted woman. She had personally burned seven of her own errant direct disciples to ashes!
"Stop them! Sander, Fennice, go organize the soldiers we brought and launch a counterattack. I authorize you to use every heavy weapon!" Bright clenched his cross and shouted furiously. "Everyone else, come with me. Hold back those damned vampires!"
A soft white light spread from within the cross. A thumb-sized white crystal appeared between Bright's brows. As he chanted a spell, his body suddenly transformed into a dazzling streak of light and flew toward Fanlu'er City's central civic square!
More than a dozen young men and women dressed in robes of various colors exchanged glances. They simultaneously remembered the terror of the Grand Arbiters and let out a breath. They likewise transformed into firelight, icy wind, dense fog, and illusions, following Bright back into the fight.
Sander and Fennice did not dare waste time either. They simultaneously pulled out exquisitely crafted golden shell-shaped whistles and blew sharp notes. Scattered soldiers and hunters from all directions hurried over, rapidly gathering around them.
"Prepare to counterattack! Set every heavy weapon stored in Fanlu'er's arsenal in motion!" Lightning crackled from Sander's eyes as he boldly issued the order for an all-out counterattack.
Suddenly, a sharp bird cry rang out. A Hell Three-Headed Dragon Eagle dove from the sky with a howl, its talons viciously clawing at Sander and Fennice. Sander's staff abruptly flashed with dazzling blue-white light. He shouted a strange syllable, and a blue-white bolt of lightning as thick as a barrel roared from his hand, smashing into the Three-Headed Dragon Eagle's talons.
"Crack-crack" sounds rang out without end. The wretched Three-Headed Dragon Eagle was blasted until countless sparks spat from its body. Its massive frame trembled faintly as it awkwardly skimmed over everyone's heads. After crashing through a building dozens of meters tall behind them, it finally managed to climb back into the sky, lurching crookedly.
The Yin Clan Baron standing atop the Dragon Eagle turned his head. His faintly reddened eyes gave Sander a deep look. He softly recited a spell, and a palm-sized scarlet bat-shaped spell marker drifted from his hand, swiftly sinking into Sander's body.
A faint bloodlight surged hundreds of meters into the sky from the top of Sander's head. Even from far away, the Yin Clan Warriors could see where that bloodlight stood. This was a battlefield spell unique to the Yin Clan, specially used to mark powerful and troublesome enemies and summon experts from the Lineage to eliminate them.
"Damn it!" Fennice screamed helplessly. "Sander, you've been marked by a Bone-Clinging Blood Bat!"
Sander's face paled slightly before he screamed himself hoarse. "Get to the arsenal! Activate every powerful heavy weapon in storage! Damn it, we have to wipe out these vampires or drive them out, or not one of us will survive!"
Outside the city, inside the chariot where Yin Xuege sat, the spellcaster suddenly laughed coldly.
"Young Master Xuege, there's a troublesome fellow here!" Bloodlight flickered within the crystal ball, and Sander's figure soon appeared in the projection. At the same time, light and shadows rippled above it, rapidly replaying the image of Sander repelling the Three-Headed Dragon Eagle with lightning.
"It's them!" Yin Xuege rose to his feet. He glanced at the several strongest Yin Clan Marquises in the chariot, then bowed to them. "I'll trouble you, grand-uncles, to accompany me. This Sander and Fennice once gave me a very warm welcome. An eye for an eye, blood for blood—I have a few matters to discuss with them."
Eight Yin Clan experts of the "Wu" generation, dressed in enormous crimson cloaks trimmed with gold, simultaneously let out shrill laughter. Yin Xuege kicked open the chariot door and strode away. The eight Yin Clan Marquis-level experts blurred and transformed into eight hazy blood shadows that slipped into Yin Xuege's shadow.
A shrill voice came from Yin Xuege's shadow. "Xuege, you're still young and haven't tasted this supreme delicacy! Let me tell you, those fellows who boast of possessing divine bloodlines have Essence Blood that is an enormous tonic—and extraordinarily delicious! To the members of our Blood Demon Clan, every drop of their Essence Blood is incomparably precious!"
Yin Xuege dragged dozens of afterimages behind him as he drifted toward Fanlu'er City on the wind. Moving swiftly, he laughed coldly. "I've tasted their flavor! In the Blood Prison of the Great Berlin City-State, I killed a fellow named Leitning! He also wielded the power of thunder. His blood tasted exceptionally delicious, and it seemed to greatly nourish my life origin."
The eight Yin Clan Marquises hidden within the shadows muttered in astonishment.
"Leitning? That fellow from the Great Berlin City-State known as the 'Little Thunder God'? You killed him, Xuege?"
"That fellow's true strength was probably already closing in on that of a Yin Clan Count. You killed him?"
"Xuege, we really underestimated you. When you infiltrated the Great Berlin City-State, you were only a Juvenile!"
The Yin Clan Marquises muttered over one another, suddenly gaining another measure of understanding of Yin Xuege's monstrous talent and potential.
After a dozen or so breaths, Yin Xuege entered Fanlu'er City. He vaulted over building after building, charging straight toward Sander and Fennice. Hunters constantly rushed out along the way to ambush him, but Yin Xuege merely swung the Blood Spirit Sword casually. A ghastly bloodlight flashed, and every hunter was ripped open together with their weapon.
The Blood Spirit Sword truly lived up to its reputation as Yin Tianjue's personal spirit weapon. After centuries of nourishment in the Yin Clan's Blood Transformation Pool, it had become a supreme fiendish weapon. With a casual flick of Yin Xuege's wrist, bloodlight sprayed more than three meters from the blade. Every hunter he killed had all the blood in their body—including their soul—sucked dry in an instant, and each one became a dried corpse that plummeted from the sky.
After Yin Xuege had killed one hundred and seventy-two hunters in succession, not another hunter dared appear before him!
He crossed more than half of Fanlu'er City as though entering an uninhabited land, passed through the civic square, and reached the factory district north of Fanlu'er City. Blast furnaces stood in rows here, while the roar of massive machinery echoed everywhere. This was where Fanlu'er City smelted metal ore and refined all kinds of rare metals—the lifeblood of Fanlu'er City.
Sander and Fennice had acted with tremendous efficiency. They had already led several thousand assembled elite soldiers in opening the underground fortress in the factory district, and hundreds of enormous multi-turret tanks roared out from within.
