Vol. 3The Sunwell and the Molten Core

Tyrel and Alex built alliances and fought the Scourge, the Alliance, and rival factions while Tyrel strengthened the Blood Elves and pursued a campaign against Ragnaros. The allied army defeated the Twilight Cult at The Molten Core, leaving Luminas with captives to question.

  • Tyrel reclaimed Quel'Thalas, forged an alliance with Saloren and the Horde, and defeated the Scourge at key strongholds.
  • Alex captured Stromgarde and Durnholde Castle, fought his way back across the Darrowmere River, and destroyed Ravenholdt Manor, while Dalaran prepared for the returning Undead.
  • Alex and Aethas led the Blood Elves' assault on Dalaran as the Scourge devastated the Argent Dawn and its allies.

Arc 9The Battle for Lordaeron

Tyrel reclaimed Quel'Thalas and secured a Horde alliance, while Alex maneuvered the forces around Southshore and Stromgarde against the Alliance. The arc ended with Dalaran preparing for the returning Undead and sending Aethas to identify them, despite his anger at the Council of Six.

  • Tyrel and his allies defeated the Scourge at Andalyn Manor, Sunwell Citadel, and Deatholme, killing Gavinrad and Dalkhan and restoring Sas'aral.
  • Tyrel persuaded Saloren to join the Awakened and formed an equal alliance between the Blood Elves, Awakened, and Horde.
  • The Alliance landed at Southshore, where Arthas Blood-Weeper's Death Knights clashed with Stormwind forces and the Foresight Legion entered the conflict.
  • Alex recruited the Syndicate Organization, Stonefist Ogres, and Witherbark trolls, helping capture Stromgarde and drive Galin Thorbain back to the Arathi Highlands.
  • Alex's forces took Durnholde Castle, but an explosion destroyed the Darrowmere River bridge and left his vanguard surrounded by Alliance soldiers.
  • Alex's vanguard fought its way back across the river as Arthas was held off by Bolvar, and Alex then ordered an aerial attack that destroyed Ravenholdt Manor.

Arc 10The Blood Knight's Oath

Alex and the Blood Elves seized Dalaran while the Scourge devastated the Argent Dawn and its allies, and Tyrel faced M'uru's attempt to control him. Tyrel mastered the naaru's power, created the first Blood Knight, and traveled to Stormspire to pursue a partnership with the Astral Consortium.

  • Alex led the Blood Elves' attack on Dalaran after Saren Weaver disabled its Magic Shield, and Aethas joined the assault against the Kirin Tor.
  • Mylah and Bromuukth's wedding was interrupted by the Scourge, and Seriath was mortally wounded as Rivendare and Rhaes attacked Northrend Watchtower.
  • Uther the Darkbringer ambushed Saidan Dathrohan, while Kil'kaisen's Scourge attacked Light's Hope Chapel and Alexandros went to Stratholme.
  • Renault wielded Ashbringer against the Scourge, but Uther defeated him and revealed that Dathrohan had become a Death Knight.
  • Cain and Kaelen fought Kael'thas and Sir Zeliek as Alexandros and his allies escaped, while Cain rescued Tirion through a Spatial Rift.
  • Tyrel met Kael'thas at Stormwind Citadel, where M'uru showed Tyrel a vision of Quel'Danas's destruction and tried to consume his will.
  • Tyrel overcame M'uru by using the miniature Sunwell's Arcane Energy, then infused Draenalus with Blood-red Holy Light and named him Blood Knight Lord Draenalus.

Arc 11The Battle for Shattrath

Tyrel fought to take the Exodar and later led the Blood Elves in an assault on Shattrath, where Alleria’s intervention ended the First Battle of Shattrath. He returned to Quel’Thalas to strengthen the Blood Knights and Demon Hunters, while Kael’thas made a bargain with Kil'jaeden and Tyrel set out for Eversong City.

  • Tyrel confronted Prophet Velen over the Exodar, then accepted the surrender of captured Draenei and kept Soulbinder Tu'ranni as his maid.
  • Tyrel told Kael’thas that Kil’jaeden threatened Azeroth, then went to Outland and learned that Illidan intended to attack Shattrath.
  • Tyrel aided the Blood Ring Clan against the Ogres and sent Prophet Vortale to lead the Blood Elf assault on Shattrath.
  • The Naaru’s influence turned Blood Elves against one another, but Vortale’s Mental Veil helped them resist as he fought Archmage Khadgar.
  • Tyrel arrived at Shattrath, shielded the Blood Elves with Soul Song, and fought Naaru V'el and Khadgar until Alleria and her rangers intervened and the battle ended.

Arc 12The Molten Core Campaign

Tyrel gathered allies and resources to challenge Ragnaros, while his forces maneuvered against rival dwarven factions and uncovered the Twilight Cult in The Molten Core. The allied army captured the excavation site, defeated Twilight Lord Akakus, and left Luminas with prisoners to question.

  • Leotheras established a Demon Hunter training ground on an island in Damon Lake, while Modan brought him more than a thousand High Elves and Blood Elves willing to fight the Burning Legion.
  • Tyrel helped Rilas unite Blood Elf and High Elf rangers, and Tulani’s High Elf Elegy awakened the Hateful Naga, who attacked Moonfeather Fortress and pledged to protect the elves.
  • Tyrel visited Orgrimmar with Yorin, introduced him to Thrall, and then joined Azuregos and Loramus in searching Azshara for the Pandaren Empire’s Arcane Source, finding a relic marked “Pandaria” instead.
  • Hydraxis recruited Tyrel to help fight Ragnaros, and Thrall assembled thousands of Orcs as Tyrel’s forces clashed with the Explorer’s League and the Dark Iron Legion over the Observer’s Tomb.
  • Tyrel recovered the Eye of the Guardian from the tomb, while Alex infiltrated the Tower of Pain, killed Ambassador Infurnus with Tyrel’s help, and turned the Dark Iron Legion against the Bronzebeard Dwarves.
  • Tyrel promised Yorin he would search for the Mag'har clansmen, then secured the Thorium Brotherhood’s support and Lord Rendan’s cooperation for an assault on The Molten Core.
  • Luminas led the assault, freed slaves, and killed Lethosario after he revealed his service to the Twilight Cult.
  • Luminas, Miendis, and Retson defeated Twilight Lord Akakus, and Luminas captured the fleeing cultists for questioning.
