Nature and Extent
The Star Realm is a boundless, three-dimensional expanse of starfields, worlds, meteorite belts, anomalies, and civilizations. Its end has never been found, and it continues to grow; even top-level civilizations have failed to determine its boundaries. 1409 3261
Blank star territories and barren starfields are more common than inhabited regions. Complete Rule Planes are comparatively rare, while Broken Planes, demiplanes, and void meteors make up much of the known expanse. 4454 5186
- Independent interstellar travel is generally the domain of Level-4 lifeforms and above; lower-level beings require teleportation arrays, fortresses, or specialized vessels to travel safely between worlds. 2728 4431
- The realm contains innumerable civilizations with vastly unequal power, from low-level worlds to top-level civilizations possessing dozens or hundreds of Dominators. 2472 3060
- The conservation of energy and matter applies throughout the Star Realm, with many resources considered renewable through elemental conversion. 5250
Astral Realm Border
The Astral Realm Border is a boundless dark region marked by a mysterious white line and starry skies behind it. Though travelers may appear stationary, they advance at extreme speed by Star Realm standards as the border expands outward. 1224
- Pioneer Material — raw material found at the border and used in the Star Realm's expansion and development. 1224
- Single-rule materials — primordial materials associated with individual rules, likewise used in the realm's growth. 1224
- Newborn starry skies — nearby regions resemble newly born worlds, but many remain demiplanes or Broken Planes that may require millions to billions of years to become capable of sustaining life. 1224
Rules and Regulation
Law of Balance
The Star Realm operates as a balanced ecosystem in which civilizations rise and fall so long as no force completely shatters the equilibrium. This balance governs the actions of powerful beings and constrains even Level-9 existences. 3889 4629
- Level-9 beings can affect the balance rules, but cannot do so without limit. 4629
- Reaching higher rule-based progression causes the Astral Realm Will to reject or pressure powerful beings to leave the Star Realm. 1343 5066
- Minghe Empire self-sealing techniques can partially shield Level-9 beings from the realm's perception, allowing them to remain longer than most. 1487
- Beings who undergo rule-based transformation may instead become part of the Star Realm's origin and persist as rule phenomena. 4212
Astral Realm Will
The Astral Realm Will is the realm's regulatory force. It reacts to beings whose power or actions threaten the balance of rules, including Level-9 entities remaining within the Star Realm. 728 1343
- It urged Saine to leave after his advancement to Level 9, though it later restrained its rejection of him. 1343
- Saine's Root-Grasping Arcane Truth weakened the rejection he experienced by allowing him to draw upon local time-space origin and establish a firmer presence. 728
- The Will cannot easily impose further restrictions on Undying Supreme after his power returned to that of an ordinary mortal, making him more compliant with the realm's rules. 2875
Eyes of the Astral Realm
The Eyes of the Astral Realm are gleaming manifestations of Rule Light that appear when events excessively disrupt the Star Realm's balance. 2543
- Their appearance on the Minghe World battlefield followed a Top-Level Plane collapse, God Crystal detonations, and the deaths of Devil Ancestor-level entities. 2543
- Their presence compelled both sides to withdraw temporarily under immense pressure. 2543
- Wizard Civilization Dominators sensed majestic Origin Power from the Eyes, while Evil Tide creatures perceived malice. 2543
Special Time-Spaces
Several dangerous alternate time-spaces exist apart from the Star Realm and follow different rule environments.
- Despair World, Flowing Light Retrospective World, and Slaughter Space — special time-spaces whose laws differ greatly from those of the Star Realm. 1331 3612
- Flowing Light Retrospective World — also called the “Dimensional Esophagus”; Dominators entering normally must expend Omnipotent Souls, and its stranded inhabitants seek passages back to the Material Star Realm. 1225 3612
- Dimensional Hegemony battlefields — Astral Realm Rules can form vortex passages to these battlefields and waive the usual cost of entry for participating top-level civilizations. 3612
- Time flow — the Flowing Light Retrospective World possesses unstable, disordered temporal rules, making the passage of time there difficult even for a Level-13 being to measure accurately. 5669
Relationships
- Astral Realm Will — regulatory manifestation that maintains the balance of rules and rejects excessively powerful beings. 1343 3889
- Astral Realm Overseers — overseers such as Ming monitor major battlefields and endure growing pressure as wars and balance-breaking methods proliferate. 1890 2793
- Level-9 Beings — their prolonged presence is restricted by the Star Realm’s balance mechanisms, though sealing and rule-based transformation can alter this outcome. 1487 4212
- Evil Tide Civilization — its attempt to demonize the entire Star Realm is regarded as incompatible with the realm’s balance and expansion. 1748 3261
