Background / History
God's Country was established by invaders from another world and became a hostile power on the Central Continent. The Wizard Guild calls it the Evil Country, not because it emits an evil aura, but because of its foreign origin and its highly exclusionary Light Power: if it dominated the world, other forms of energy would be driven out. Its atmosphere is instead described as sacred, especially beneath the Guardian Skywing's radiant presence. 1245
The country's divine system was built around the slumbering Outer Heavenly Demon. Its deities remained asleep, while Divine Revelation, a Chosen of the Gods, served as their spokesperson and held supreme authority below the deity itself. 982 Divine Revelation could access most of the Guardian Skywing's resources, though the Guardian Skywing itself automatically operated the national faith system. 1103
God's Country developed more than ten thousand small missionary towns, each generally housing two thousand to five thousand people. Their preaching points collected Faith Power for the Guardian Skywing. 1102 1246
Government and Faith System
Divine Revelation
Divine Revelation acted as the country's principal administrator and the Outer Heavenly Demon's representative.
- His authority derived from his status as a Divine Descendant rather than personal combat strength. 982
- He reviewed national affairs and requested divine-power use from the Guardian Skywing. 1103
- He increasingly prioritized the Outer Heavenly Demon's awakening over the survival of ordinary believers. 1448 1466
- His authority weakened as Faith Power disappeared and God Tier Holy Knights asserted greater independence. 1433 1441
Guardian Skywing
The Guardian Skywing was both God's Country's central defense and the automated core of its faith system.
- It was part of the Outer Heavenly Demon's body and functioned similarly to an exceptionally powerful world spirit. 1103
- It received Faith Power from the country's preaching points and stored divine power for national defenses. 1246
- Its energy shield prevented outside forces from entering God's Country and later sealed even the country's own God Tier Holy Knights inside. 1161 1466
- It could spend divine power to search the souls of deceased believers within its vast soul collection. 1103
Believers and Souls
Believers were educated to treat absolute service to the deity as normal. Divine decrees could compel them to commit acts they would otherwise consider evil, including robbery. 1094
Upon death, a believer's soul returned to the Guardian Skywing. These souls retained only the instinct to pray continuously. 1103
Military and Defenses
- Guardian Skywing energy shield — The principal barrier surrounding God's Country; it blocked Central Continent forces and consumed Faith Power while active. 1161 1441
- God Tier Holy Knights — The country's highest military force. At least eight survived the Outer Heavenly Demon's mass sacrifice, alongside more than thirty Demigod Paladins. 1466 1467
- Fanatical Knights and Holy Knights — Enforced internal order, guarded missionary towns, and fought at the front line. 1161 1253
- Central Temple — The country's most important temple and a repository of rare Divine Artifacts and divine power crystals. 1023 1282
- Divine Artifacts — The Central Temple once held a divine sword and shield, while Divine Revelation modified recovered artifacts so their original creators could not reclaim them. 1023
Intelligence Network
God's Country maintained a covert intelligence organization across the Central Continent.
- It recruited and controlled ordinary people through brainwashing, making its agents difficult for powerful Professionals to detect. 1010 1029
- Its followers were distributed throughout the continent, including among noble families; one investigated Noble committed suicide to stop an inquiry. 1029
- The organization targeted vulnerable families and was activated on a large scale after orders from God's Country. 1010
- Its operations threatened other religious institutions, including the Goddess Temple and Elf Temple. 1029
Conflict with Abel and the Wizard Guild
The Wizard Guild fought God's Country for control of resource points and the frontier. After the destruction of the space rifts, God's Country withdrew from ten resource points, allowing the Wizard Guild to advance its battle line toward the country itself. 970 1253
God's Country identified Abel—under his identity as Master Bennett—as a major threat because of his potions, his role in strengthening the Wizard Guild, and his possession of Divine Artifacts connected to the Outer Heavenly Demon. Divine Revelation sought to capture him at any cost. 1075 1090
Abel infiltrated the country's faith network through Clerics who unknowingly redirected their prayers to his Crystal Angel Statue. By exploiting the similarity between his Angel Body's aura and that of the Outer Heavenly Demon, he established a second, hidden faith system within God's Country. 1102 1433
The God of Thieves Milton, acting under Abel's control, further destabilized the country by assassinating Clerics and harvesting Faith Power. 1253 1433
Collapse and Reconstruction
As the Outer Heavenly Demon's consciousness began to recover, the Guardian Skywing consumed increasing amounts of Faith Power. Believers were forced to pray continuously for seven days, producing mass casualties. 1448
Natural disasters then spread across God's Country. Divine Revelation and the God Tier Holy Knights attempted to conceal the damage, but the country became sealed behind the Guardian Skywing's shield and its population could no longer escape. 1462 1466
The Outer Heavenly Demon's angelic manifestation demanded the believers' souls. Its command drove all believers below Demigod Tier into fanaticism:
“I say, believe in me and gain eternal life!” 1466
Within seconds, three hundred million souls became white light. The Outer Heavenly Demon used them to remake the sky and land of God's Country. 1466 The process killed every living thing within the territory; only Divine Revelation, eight God Tier Holy Knights, and more than thirty Demigod Paladins remained. 1467
