Background / History

The Nine Heavens Ten Earths was originally a complete great domain born from Chaos. An ancient catastrophic war shattered it, leaving the present realm fragmented, its laws incomplete, and its former heavenly will destroyed. Later inhabitants compare it to a ruined mirror barely held together, liable to break apart again 420 427 496.

The Immortal Domain was created by ancient great powers as a world modeled on the Nine Heavens Ten Earths' laws. After the Nine Heavens Ten Earths was shattered, it became a refuge for Immortal Kings and True Immortals, though it remained fundamentally attached to—and originally part of—the greater domain 420 520 656.

The Eight Regions likewise originated as Small Worlds modeled on the Nine Heavens Ten Earths, but became separated from it due to their special nature. They later served as both a prison for Darkness Creatures and a medicine field exploited by Upper Realm powers, whose inhabitants were branded as “Sin Blood” despite their ancestors having fought for the Nine Heavens Ten Earths 3 481 490.

By the time Shi Yi rose as Human Emperor, the realm had entered deep decline: its Great Dao was incomplete, the immortal path within it had been severed, and the Three Thousand Dao Provinces remained its only reliable foundation for mass habitation 496 607. Its fractured society was marked by factional conflict, distrust, and violence, with even close relations commonly turning against one another for profit 534 592.

World Consciousness

The Nine Heavens Ten Earths once possessed a will of heaven, but this will was lost when the realm shattered. By Shi Yi's era, it retained at most a fragmented, instinctive world consciousness rather than a complete Heavenly Dao 427 605.

• The realm invested in Shi Yi through the Immortal Dao Flower Bud and later had the Original Gate acknowledge him as its master, actions he interprets as a plea for aid 605.
• Its remaining connections extend beyond its visible territory. The Immortal Antiquity Secret Realm, the Three Thousand Eight Hundred Splendid Worlds, and the Void Great Rift are described as territories or associated worlds linked to the Nine Heavens Ten Earths 616.

Major Events

Expansion of the Yan Huang Empire

Shi Yi's forces established a foothold in the Three Thousand Dao Provinces after the destruction of the Immortal Hall. Within a year, the Yan Huang Empire occupied the Earth Domain's Three Hundred Provinces, reversing the historic pattern of Upper Realm powers expanding into the Eight Regions 526.

The inhabitants of the Nine Heavens Ten Earths initially viewed the Eight Regions as inferior and uncivilized. The organized forces, revived ancestral Spiritual Wills, and military cohesion displayed by Shi Yi's side forced many to reconsider both the “Lower Realm” label and the status of Sin Blood 514.

Merit and Faith System

Shi Yi extended his Merit and Faith system across the Nine Heavens Ten Earths, using the Human Emperor Seal as a trusted third-party exchange platform for cultivation resources, techniques, and secret arts. The system enabled mass trade in a realm where its inhabitants traditionally lacked trust in one another 595.

The system also helped bind the realm's factions to Shi Yi through shared interests. Many inhabitants came to see him as a savior who had brought stability, order, and materially improved conditions rather than as an external conqueror 599 610.

Void Great Rift Campaign

Shi Yi summoned the Golden Great Dao and recruited a Billion Strong Army from the Nine Heavens Ten Earths for an expedition into the Void Great Rift 593. The campaign revealed the truth behind the Sin Blood label: the descendants of the Eight Regions had inherited the legacy of heroes who had defended the Nine Heavens Ten Earths 607.

The army fought Darkness Creatures in the Void Great Rift for more than a decade, suffering over ten million dead and wounded. Its campaign helped contain the dark erosion threatening the realm 638 673.

Recovery and Stabilization

Shi Yi ultimately chose not to eliminate the Nine Heavens Ten Earths, though he remained determined to deal with the Immortal Domain 614. His protection and the strength of the Eight Regions Kings deterred further Foreign Domain invasion, leading to a ceasefire agreement at the Border Wilderness Emperor Pass 634.

Seven hundred years after the Void Great Rift was purged, darkness within the realm had been contained and the Nine Heavens had largely been reclaimed. The Three Thousand Dao Provinces were no longer its sole surviving inhabited remnant, though the remaining Nine Earths were intentionally left untouched 673.
