Born in the Immortal Ancient Era, the Willow Deity became the Ancestor Offering Spirit and created the Sacrificial Spirit Path. Through worship and protection rather than simple plunder, this path gave weak beings a means of survival; at her height, she was supported by the Three Thousand Divine Kingdoms. 192 589

As the Ancestor Offering Spirit of the Immortal Domain, she entered the Foreign Domain to defend her world and made its kings fear invading for tens of thousands of years. Her reputation was built on solitary warfare: she charged through the Foreign Domain nine times in and nine times out, leaving its creatures fearful of her name. 119 641 660

She was later betrayed by her own side. Her Three Thousand Divine Kingdoms were destroyed, the foundation of her Offering Spirit Dao was ruined, and she nearly died before falling into the Eight Regions of the Lower Realm. 118 437 589

In the Great Wilderness, her damaged true body took root in Stone Village. Though lightning had reduced her to a charred stump with one living branch, she protected the village from extinction for many years as its sacrificial spirit. 5 She viewed this protection as a reciprocal arrangement founded on the villagers' sincere devotion, not ownership or obligation. 22 31

After meeting Shi Yi, she gradually began communicating with him and eventually accepted him as her sole disciple. Her guidance stabilized the chaotic forces within his Ten Celestial Passages and enabled his continued cultivation. 17 30 381

Her former identity centered on protecting living beings, but betrayal shattered her faith in that role. She abandoned the Ancestor Offering Spirit's path and no longer sees morality as a simple distinction between light and darkness; to her, darkness originates in the human heart and in cycles of oppression. 196 430 587

Shi Yi is the principal exception to her detachment. Initially reluctant to encourage his dependence, she nevertheless becomes protective, patient, and increasingly indulgent toward him. 23 30 381 She is not adept at verbalizing emotion, instead expressing care through guidance, protection, and direct action. 601
