Background / History

Shi Yi was originally a man from a blue planet devastated by global nuclear war. After being engulfed by terrifying light and heat, he awakened in the body of the six-year-old Shi Yi of Martial King Manor in Stone Country’s Imperial Capital. He immediately recognized that he was not the original Shi Yi and resolved not to repeat that individual’s fate. 1

Born with Double Pupils, Shi Yi discovered Shi Hao’s hidden Supreme Bone with a glance but deliberately kept the secret. As a child, he endured brutal medicinal-bath baptisms using fierce-beast blood, centipedes, and spiders, largely because Yu Yuexian believed his Double Pupils marked him as a future peerless prodigy. 1

He trained in the Great Wilderness and Stone Village, where he opened Ten Celestial Passages and developed a bond with the Willow Deity. During the conflict with the adult Pi Xiu, Bi An, and Ya Zi, he used Stone Village’s ancestral artifacts to bridge multiple realms and ultimately helped kill all three Pure-Blooded Ferocious Beasts. The feat established his reputation across Stone Country and drew the attention of Upper Realm orthodoxies. 38 85 96 149

Shi Yi later became Martial King, then succeeded as Human Emperor over Stone Country and Fire Country. The two states were merged into the Yan Huang Empire, whose governance he generally delegated to Qin Yining while he retained decisive military, financial, and informational authority. 103 435 488 532

As Human Emperor, Shi Yi promoted the Form and Will Twelve Methods among Stone Village and the wider Human Race, strengthened human status against ferocious beasts, and unified the Eight Regions. He prefers building collective strength and institutions to pursuing a solitary path of power. 328 425 514

Appearance

Shi Yi is a handsome, refined man with a scholarly but resolute bearing. He deliberately maintains the image of a noble young master rather than a purely martial cultivator. 100

  • Long, ink-black hair reaching his waist. 100
  • Purple Double Pupils, which can shine brightly when activated. 288 424
  • Commonly wears a black silk robe, warm jade belt, and cinnabar-colored boots. 100
  • His artifact-enhanced combat form can expand into a three-meter-tall, heavily muscled figure with a savage aura. 38

Personality

Shi Yi is fundamentally cautious, pragmatic, and unwilling to gamble his life unnecessarily. He prefers using status, alliances, preparation, and overwhelming numbers rather than relying on lone heroics. He does not consider borrowing power or finding protectors disgraceful. 1 149 591

He initially dislikes hardship and has an outwardly unsteady Dao heart, but he does not avoid hardships that are necessary. His apparent flaws—such as his attachment to comfort and relationships—are presented as a means of preserving his humanity against the cold detachment fostered by his Double Pupil talent. 506

Despite being reluctant to rule, he accepts responsibility when no one else can protect those dependent on him. He is receptive to advice, readily acknowledges mistakes, and prefers preventing bloodshed over relying on force after problems have escalated. 442 443 651

  • Keeps his past-life memories secret from everyone, including the Willow Deity. 562
  • Delegates routine governance because he dislikes court maneuvering and reading memorials. 260 488
  • Treats power as a means to protect his people and maintain order, even while personally preferring leisure and seclusion. 469 609
  • Is protective of family, companions, and Stone Village, though he does not trust others without reservation. 82 562 651
