Background / History

Chen Yi first transmigrated more than eight hundred years before the present story. He awakened as an abandoned infant in the wilderness and was nearly eaten by a wolf before the elderly cultivator Chen Dalei saved him and raised him as his grandson. Chen Dalei’s unconventional stories and teachings shaped Chen Yi’s refusal to accept conventional understanding and his resolve to follow his own path. 215

On Chen Yi’s eighteenth birthday, immediately after he reached Foundation Establishment, Chen Dalei died. Chen Yi buried him and swore to rise above all others and see the sights his grandfather never could; it was the last time he cried. 215

He advanced along the orthodox path from Qi Refining to Tribulation Transcendence, but failed to withstand the normal tribulation. Rather than accept that limit, he found an alternative means to transcend—one that granted immense power but left him unable to condense and comprehend origin Dao marks in the conventional way. 316

Over centuries, Chen Yi repeatedly encountered and fought the Tribulation Transcendence. After their eighty-first encounter, the Myriad Worlds Transmigrator Mutual Aid Group appeared in his mind; he joined out of excitement for the unknown rather than fear. 335

He later became Group 108 Master and built Ziwei’s influence through the chat group, avatars, recruitment, and the Ziwei Immortal Court. He also severed information concerning himself, Ziwei Continent, and Group 108 from the Primordial Creation Plate’s main body, leaving the group functional but beyond ordinary supervision. 154

Appearance

Chen Yi’s true body has long black hair. His avatar manifested in black Daoist robes with silver hair falling over his shoulders; his brows and eyes were described as soft and feminine, contrasting with an indifferent bearing toward all living beings. 60 215

  • Wields a great halberd in his strongest offensive form. 94
  • Can fight bare-chested, a state associated with abandoning restraint and unleashing overwhelming destructive power. 94
  • Has used forty-eight clone Rainbow Beads as a halo around his true body to maximize defense and damage reduction. 94
  • Employs a purple Dharma Form with combat-oriented traits. 343

Personality

Chen Yi is methodical, cautious, and intensely pragmatic. He prefers battles he believes he can win, tests suspicious objects indirectly, and quickly retreats or conceals himself when a stronger unknown force may be involved. 191 215

His caution does not make him passive. When circumstances demand it, he takes the initiative: infiltrating chat-group systems, setting traps for enemies, kidnapping or recruiting valuable talent, and interfering with history while personally bearing the resulting karma. 113 120 284 360

He is irreverent toward status and power. He taunts the Tribulation Transcendence, pressures Grand Unity cultivators, and treats even threats from Immortal Emperors as problems to be studied for loopholes. 9 254 265 292

Chen Yi can be ruthless, particularly toward enemies or resources he regards as strategically useful. He permitted the Eryi Mother Body to be tortured for information, refines resistant captives, and considers outside talents and worlds in terms of Ziwei’s long-term development. 36 284 205

Despite this, he is protective of those he considers his own. He aided Mu Chen during a crisis, refused to let Xiao Fang face an overwhelming fight, and repeatedly risked time-related consequences to save Chen Dalei and Cui Changsheng. 60 304 215 360

Abilities & Skills

Avatars and Clone Fusion

Chen Yi operates through numerous avatars of differing star levels, allowing him to act across worlds, absorb risks, and combine power when necessary.

  • Two-star avatars can surpass lower-realm limits and provoke the Tribulation Transcendence. 9
  • Avatars can merge into stronger forms, including Four-star and Six-star clones. 9 298
  • His true body usually remains detached while avatars handle dangerous work and bear karma. 312
  • He can create two Six-star clones after gaining sufficient power through a return to the past. 360
  • Clone quantity can become a strategic advantage in itself; his clones surrounded and captured the Eryi Mother Body. 36

Raw Power and Halberd Combat

Chen Yi’s combat style centers on overwhelming physical force and a great halberd rather than intricate orthodox mechanisms.

  • His halberd form is described as his strongest offensive state. 94
  • He can shatter spatial confinement through brute, rule-defying force. 312
  • He demonstrated halberd technique to Lu Ziqiao, causing the Pseudo-Immortal to gain enlightenment and abandon his former halberd art. 111
  • His main weakness in technical combat is a relative lack of sophisticated counter-mechanisms; he compensates by identifying loopholes, closing distance, and striking directly. 291 292

Rule-Defying Traits

Chen Yi possesses power that does not fit the known systems of the Myriad Worlds.

  • His force appears similar to the Great Dao of Strength but is not bound by known rules. 312
  • Hu Fangyuan identifies him as a rule-defying aberration whose nature cannot be fully understood through the Dao. 312
  • His clone was unaffected by a causality-based attack, suggesting an existence not bound by ordinary past-cause relationships. 313
  • His true body possesses an Invincible Golden Body-like trait that isolates the power of orthodox heaven and achieves Absolute Evasion. 343
  • This defensive trait does not fully apply to his avatars, which remain connected to the orthodox Great Dao. 343

Time and Space Manipulation

Chen Yi can travel through the River of Time, mark targets across historical spacetime, and alter timelines while managing the resulting karma.

  • He returned to the past to reunite with Chen Dalei without destabilizing established history. 215 218
  • He marked Xie Buro’s home within the Divine Realm River of Time. 221
  • A Four-star clone halted an ancient timeline while two Six-star clones pushed it backward to reverse Cui Changsheng’s refinement. 364
  • He can gather karmic consequences onto himself to preserve a timeline’s stability. 360
  • He later reversed predetermined causality and restored Cui Changsheng after Crimson Heaven had erased him from history. 366

Refinement, Artifact Crafting, and Analysis

Chen Yi is capable of refining powerful materials, examining unusual objects, and crafting artifacts.

  • Refined sub-Immortal Dao origin by stripping its West Sea Realm attributes and giving its basic framework to Ziwei Heavenly Dao. 59
  • Crafted Chaos Silk, the Universe Ring, and Wind Fire Wheels for A Jin. 231
  • Refined the Chaos Furnace and Five Elements Mountain Range after merging his Six-star Clone. 298
  • Analyzes dangerous unknown objects through formations rather than direct contact when possible. 191
  • Identified Dai Yuanshan’s tattoo as a likely manifestation of the world’s Heavenly Dao and investigated its potential twentyfold amplification. 199

Chat Group and System Manipulation

Chen Yi holds unusual authority over the Myriad Worlds Transmigrator Mutual Aid Group and its associated systems.

  • Serves as Group 108 Master, Backend Information Processing Center administrator, and detection system quality inspector. 113
  • Can manipulate chat-group backend data and trap users within a secret realm by sealing its exit. 84
  • Advanced a clone rapidly but falsified its displayed Combat Power to avoid detection. 97
  • Impersonated Han Qianxue through her account while she remained unable to control it. 116
  • Severed Group 108’s information from the Primordial Creation Plate’s main body while retaining access to chat-group functions. 154

  • Fang Zheng — Loyal Group 108 member whom Chen Yi sees as resembling his younger self; Chen Yi protected and rewarded him. 22 51

  • Ye Wuchen — Group 2 Master who initially opposed Chen Yi but later became a useful subordinate and lucky finder of opportunities. 84 191

  • Hu Fangyuan / Black Soil — God Realm remnant and sparring partner. Their relationship mixes cooperation, suspicion, rivalry, and mutual recognition of each other’s value. 308 312

  • Ling Xiao — Ancient Immortal Emperor whose awakening made Chen Yi temporarily withdraw and conceal his activities; Chen Yi later schemes against him for resources and strategic advantage. 117 334 346
  • Little Golden Dragon / Zhao Huazhen — Incomplete Creation Disk artifact spirit and Ziwei official. Chen Yi recruits, protects, teases, and later recognizes his growing maturity. 265 346
