469. Entertaining Guests
Fog City seems to be the safest alien world. At least Lu Ban can use the [Twisted Mask of Pain] to transform into a Fog City person and blend in without worrying about the effects of the poisonous fog.
In the Deep Sea, Lu Ban can Underwater Breathing and move freely, but the Tide Caller are obviously quite aggressive, and Lu Ban has no way to transform into a fish-man and mingle among them.
As for City of Dusk, it probably seems to be the most suitable Lu Ban to go by himself.
However, all three of these exotic places share a problem: they lack modern urban structures and may not even have concepts like movies and videos.
Lu Ban had thought before about whether he could bring some projection equipment and screen movies outdoors, similar to the old practice of showing movies in rural areas.
But now it seems that these alien worlds are too different from the human world, and ordinary movies probably won't be able to handle it.
Moreover, Lu Ban's previous films depicting the conditions in other lands might not seem so terrifying to the native inhabitants of those lands.
It's still a bit too difficult to evoke fear and screams through visual means.
Only by putting yourself in their shoes can you make these people from other places feel afraid.
"So, I could just travel directly to another world, become a serial killer or something, and kill ten thousand people to complete the mission, right?"
Lu Ban muttered to himself.
"Are you serious?"
Feng Yu was speechless.
"Of course I was just kidding."
Lu Ban naturally understood that this was not a game where he could vent his frustrations with reality. If he were to physically travel back in time and really go on a killing spree, he would soon be discovered by the higher-ups in that world, and might even attract the attention of other evil gods. At that point, those gods would directly block Lu Ban's path back, and then issue a wanted notice to the Chosen of the Gods of that alien world. In that case, Lu Ban would go from being the hunter to the prey.
When you go to other foreign lands to cause trouble, you definitely need to keep a low profile.
"It seems this is the only option."
Lu Ban thought of the [Weird Amusement Park] he had just obtained.
This Amusement Park can obviously be carried around and deployed in other lands, allowing for the seamless influx of native inhabitants. Furthermore, by simply modifying or removing some of the Amusement Park's rules, those who enter the Amusement Park will suffer misfortune.
If you set up Amusement Park in any place for a period of time, you can eventually gather 10,000 instances of fear and screams.
"Have you made up your mind?"
Feng Yu asked.
"Let all three go."
Lu Ban answered without hesitation.
"?"
Feng Yu glanced at Lu Ban, his eyes seeming to say, "Where did this lunatic come from?"
Lu Ban then explained his thoughts to Feng Yu.
"... it does have some feasibility."
After listening, Feng Yu nodded reluctantly.
When do you plan to leave?
She then asked, "I've finished the rice in my bowl. I'm going to use another bowl to serve the soup. The loofah soup has a delicate fragrance, perfect for warming up and relieving greasiness after a meal."
"Let's do it during this period, or after the Lunar New Year, depending on your availability."
Lu Ban wasn't in a hurry; he needed more time to study how the town operated.
"I'm fine with anything, as long as you've finished making your final arrangements."
Feng Yu picked up the bowl and sipped the slightly bluish broth.
"There's not much to explain, at most I'll just tell some acquaintances."
Lu Ban then asked another question.
"Besides these three exotic realms, are there any other exotic realms you can go to?"
Lu Ban now felt that these alien realms were different from others, and it would be best to learn more about them, in case a future mission required him to go to a similar alien realm and he had no knowledge of it.
Since Feng Yu has seen all sorts of storms, why not take advantage of this opportunity to make some extra money? Feng Yu is so considerate of me, he definitely won't mind.
"Yes, I have traveled to far more exotic places than you can imagine. I have also witnessed some magnificent deaths and lonely births. But unfortunately, most of those exotic places no longer exist. The whole world is converging, and the distance between exotic places is shrinking. I am not sure if this is what those great beings mean."
Feng Yu spoke softly, her tone very calm, as if she were commenting on the saltiness of the loofah soup.
"Some alien realms choose to fall into a collective slumber, where only the dream world can soothe their souls; some alien realms have abandoned flesh and blood, using steel and electricity as their new bodies; and some alien realms have lost their free will, leaving only swarms of Walking Corpses -like insects that devour everything."
"The world you live in is already a fairly peaceful, stable, and habitable alien realm. I think Miss Xiya thinks so too."
Feng Yu said, putting down her bowl.
"Really."
Having witnessed so many events in other lands, Lu Ban had indeed felt the uniqueness of this place.
"Next week, let's finish this as soon as possible, maybe we can come back and have a hot New Year's Eve dinner."
Thinking of the New Year's Eve dinner that Feng Yu would cook herself, Lu Ban felt that being able to spend the New Year at home was a wonderful thing.
"OK."
After Feng Yu and Lu Ban finished eating and cleaned up the dishes, it was already past one o'clock.
Lu Ban did not ask Feng Yu to stay overnight, but instead saw her out of the community.
Back home, he watched the news about the Amusement Park for a while before turning off the TV, lying down in bed, and enjoying a long-awaited sleep.
In an abandoned Amusement Park somewhere in Jiangcheng.
Lu Ban walked through the door and saw the Amusement Park rules printed on it.
He thought about it and made some changes.
A staff member dressed in red walked over and bowed to Lu Ban.
"Boss."
Now that Lu Ban is the owner of the Amusement Park, the red staff will be unable to harm him.
"Where is the Time Worm?"
Lu Ban asked.
"Sit over there."
The staff member in red pointed to a spot not far away where the Time Worm, disguised as Teddy Bear, was sitting on a bench, looking like an unwanted Teddy Bear.
The Amusement Park has been deserted for a long time, and the Time Worm is unable to steal the eerie passage of time, and is already starving.
Lu Ban felt that as an employee here, it was necessary for him to communicate with the Time Worm and reach an agreement.
"You go and tell it that I'm going to host a group of guests, and it can steal time as it pleases, as long as it follows the rules I set."
He said this to the staff member wearing red.
Lu Ban went there himself, his time might be stolen, so he had the strange creature deliver the message on his behalf.
"Receive."
The staff member in the red uniform had just nodded when she looked at Lu Ban as if she had remembered something.
"Boss, did you just say that we're going to entertain a group of guests next?"
The eyes of that ordinary-looking staff member, who seemed like someone who could be forgotten at any moment, suddenly lit up.
"Yes, I'm going to renovate the Amusement Park so that it can better welcome guests. You must treat them well."
Lu Ban said.
"Of course, our greatest pursuit is to keep our customers smiling forever."
The staff member in the red uniform curled the corners of his mouth.
