Background

Do Bao is Master Tongtian's chief disciple and an Innate Treasure-Seeking Rat renowned for locating Spiritual Treasures. Tongtian relied on this talent to obtain many treasures before becoming a Saint. When they discovered Wang Yuan's immortal mountain, Do Bao immediately perceived its concentrated spiritual energy and the signs of hidden treasures. 1

He became attached to Wang Yuan, whom he calls “Grandpa,” and received the Profound Yellow Bell and the Stellar Transformations cultivation method from him. Although reluctant to surrender tens of thousands of years of Quasi-Sage cultivation, Do Bao ultimately dispersed it and rebuilt from nothing to pursue the higher-grade body-refining path. 10 25 34

Appearance

In his usual Daoist form, Do Bao is a slightly chubby, round-faced man with small eyes and a horizontally growing beard. His appearance is commonly described as cute or round rather than imposing. 10 11 1011

Personality

Do Bao is impulsive, curious, and often insufficiently cautious for his own safety. He investigated the incident at Nüwa Temple despite being only a Quasi-Sage and failing to consider that Saints could be involved. His status as Tongtian’s most favored chief disciple is directly associated with his conspicuous lack of calculation. 12

He is also pragmatic about survival. After rebuilding his cultivation, he feared being targeted by old enemies while weak, initially hesitated to descend the mountain, and deliberately chose the Vanguard Officer role because it let him fight weaker opponents rather than commanders. 160 162

His fear gradually gives way to resolve. Once he understands that Stellar Transformations advances through battle, he accepts danger as necessary for cultivation, stands against stronger enemies, and embraces his duty as the Intercept Sect’s future leader. 160 470 522
