Personality

Di Jun is an ambitious and far-sighted ruler who regards the Demon Clan’s ascent as a struggle that can only end in victory or ruin. He planned for the establishment of the Heavenly Court over countless millennia and viewed its foundation as essential to ruling the Nine Heavens and the Four Seas. 23

He is politically calculating. He rewards allies with authority and destiny, placates powerful lineages when necessary, and uses concessions when direct confrontation is unfavorable. His decision to transfer water territories to Taiyuan’s Wuyi Mountain lineage reflected both caution and recognition of Taiyuan’s strength. 52 176

Di Jun also rules through control and deterrence. Concerned by the divided loyalties of Demon Clan elders, he used the Myriad Demon Banner to bind influential demons’ True Spirits and curb internal dissent. 186 188 His restraint is pragmatic rather than gentle: he pardons valuable subordinates when unity requires it, but demands harsh repayment from defeated enemies such as East King Duke. 188 213

History

Founding the Demon Clan

Di Jun and Tai Yi operated from the Sun Palace, where Di Jun acted as the chief planner for a future Demon Clan Heavenly Court. When the Primordial Divine Demon Dao Lineage moved to restore the Five Directions Divine Court, he recognized the resulting conflict as the opening needed to establish a new order. He secured Fuxi and Nuwa’s commitment to prepare Phoenix Perch Mountain’s forces for war. 23

He subsequently proclaimed the Demon Clan open to all Innate and Postnatal beings, promising equality and protection regardless of origin. The Myriad Races Alliance and countless tribes answered the call, concentrating their destiny around the new faction. 26

Di Jun then petitioned the Heavenly Dao to let him bear the world’s destiny, reopen the Heavenly Court, and establish order. The Heavenly Dao approved him as Heavenly Emperor; empowered by this mandate, he summoned the hidden Thirty-three Heavens. 26

Establishing Heavenly Court Rule

As Di Jun moved to refine the Thirty-three Heavens’ Origin, the Twelve Ancestor Witches intervened. Di Jiang’s spatial mastery halted Di Jun’s advance, but Tai Yi held off the attackers with the Chaos Bell while Dou Mu Yuan Jun fulfilled a promise to impede the Witch Clan. 27

After the Heavenly Court’s establishment, Di Jun distributed its destiny among the founding leadership. He made Tai Yi the Eastern Emperor, enfeoffed Nuwa as Empress Wa and Fuxi as Emperor Xi, and appointed Kunpeng as Demon Master. 52

He also accepted Fuxi’s proposal to support marketplaces owned by Taiyuanzi but built and administered by the Demon Clan, viewing their development as a means of integrating the myriad races. 81

Consolidation and the Purple Mansion Campaign

Di Jun’s distrust of internal factions intensified after Kunpeng pursued the Primordial Violet Qi. Though he could not kill the Demon Master without damaging Demon Clan unity, he forced Kunpeng to offer a wisp of his True Spirit to the Myriad Demon Banner. He extended the same restrictive measure to other influential elders while publicly pardoning them for past offenses. 186 188

He then led the Demon Clan into conflict with East King Duke’s Purple Mansion Continent. The Demon Clan initially faced the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation, prompting Di Jun to pursue a rival grand formation using the River Diagram, Luo Script, and the Demon Clan’s formation masters. 190 191

With the completed Zhou Tian Star Dou Grand Formation, Di Jun fought East King Duke directly. After their prolonged duel and Tai Yi’s intervention, East King Duke surrendered the Golden Book and the Head of Male Immortals position to Di Jun. Di Jun accepted the transfer, then required East King Duke to self-destruct his cultivation as repayment for his favor. 212 213

Conflict over the Water Element

Di Jun enfeoffed Taiyuanzi as Heavenly River Water God to placate Fuxi and Nuwa while displaying fairness toward non-Sun Palace lineages. 53 He later realized that Taiyuan’s assistance with the Zhou Tian Star Dou Grand Formation was tied to an effort to obtain greater Water Element authority. 193

Though reluctant, Di Jun granted Taiyuan the incomplete Origin Divine Position of the Water Official Great Emperor, hoping Taiyuan would secure the Star God Lineage’s cooperation without forcing the Heavenly Court into another war. 194

As Taiyuan’s influence grew, Di Jun became increasingly suspicious of Phoenix Perch Mountain and other potential collaborators. He refused Fuxi’s suggestion to search all Demon Clan residences with the Heaven-Illuminating Mirror, judging that such an investigation would provoke internal turmoil. 223

Celestial Marriage and Declining Solar Authority

Seeking to unite Great Yin and Great Yang destiny, Di Jun chose Xi He and Chang Xi as his Heavenly Empresses, with Nuwa presiding over the marriage. The ceremony granted Di Jun a substantial share of Heavenly Path merit and caused the two goddesses’ fortune to converge toward him. 239 241

Di Jun then attempted to use the Heavenly Court’s destiny to absorb the Sun and Moon’s authorities and perfect his Heavenly Emperor throne. The Three Pure Ones severed his connection to those authorities, however, and the Sun and Moon retaliated. Demon Clan saints spent their own destiny to stabilize Di Jun temporarily, while Xi He, Chang Xi, and Di Jun himself suffered a decline in their connection to the celestial bodies. 242 243
