The Fierce Angels routed an enemy force three times their number.
As Lu Jin stood among the corpses of the warband leaders, scanning for survivors, the company captains gathered around him.
"Chapter Master."
"The civilians have already evacuated aboard the ships."
"The sage has also found a way to take the Navigation Tower with us."
Kao reported.
"We can leave now."
Lu Jin said nothing. He silently returned his weapon to his back.
At the farthest point in his field of vision, the entire city trembled. A black cube rose from the ground and flew toward the Foe Butcher, a frigate waiting to retrieve it in orbit.
Whatever means he had used, Caul had completed the task Lu Jin assigned him through his ingenuity.
"You've grown stronger," Kao said.
After watching the entire battle, Kao couldn't say exactly how Lu Jin had improved or by how much. But as one of the people who knew Lu Jin best, he could feel it.
"Over the past year or so, I've been slaughtering the daemon armies that descended on certain planets when the Great Rift opened."
"My strength has indeed grown."
Lu Jin kicked aside a chunk of corpse and led the company captains toward the warriors.
The Relic Teleportation Device aboard the Ragefang locked onto them and activated.
Before they were teleported away, Lu Jin said to Kao, "The Great White Sharks are still on this planet. Have the warships scan it, then capture them."
"I've already sent people to do that." Kao saluted. "The Great White Sharks will be punished."
Lu Jin nodded in satisfaction.
"I want to fight them to the death." Kais scratched the back of his head with the teeth of his Chainaxe, right where the Butcher's Nails had been implanted.
"No, Kais. They will be judged."
