Background / History

Ning Rongrong is the youngest daughter of Ning Fengzhi, Sect Master of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. As the sect’s designated successor, she was raised under the indulgence of her father and the Sword and Bone Douluo, developing a spoiled, willful, and self-centered temperament. Her family’s immense wealth made her a genuine “little princess,” rather than merely someone with a princess-like attitude 302.

Her original Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda possessed a fundamental ceiling: its users could not exceed level eighty. Ning Rongrong’s greatest ambition was therefore to break the pagoda’s limits, evolve it to nine layers, and become a Title Douluo 126. After learning the potential of this evolution, she became determined to achieve it.

She becomes one of the earliest members of the Group Chat under the name Seven Treasures Little Princess. Her casual distribution of 20,000 Gold Soul Coins immediately exposes both her wealth and her connection to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 14 15.

After seeing the later decline of the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and learning that her original counterpart neglected the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect after becoming Tang Sect’s vice sect master, Ning Rongrong resolves not to repeat that path. She focuses on securing her sect’s strength, status, technology, and future rather than treating its legacy as secondary to Tang San’s cause 287 307 627 628.

Su Yan later gives Ning Fengzhi the Aromatic Silk Beauty, enabling his Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda to evolve as well. This reinforces Ning Rongrong’s effort to transform the sect into the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect rather than allowing its future to rest solely on her personal reputation 459 896.

The sect’s leaders subsequently agree to join Spirit Hall while retaining the opportunity to develop and control their Soul Tool technology. Their discussions with Su Yan and Qian Renxue also emphasize civilian applications rather than treating Soul Tools solely as weapons 463.

Personality

Ning Rongrong is outspoken, competitive, and accustomed to getting what she wants. She is quick to show off her wealth, luck, martial soul, and later her combat strength, earning a reputation in the Group Chat as its foremost humble-bragger 157 243 627.

Despite her selfish upbringing, she becomes more considerate through her experiences with Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, Su Yan, and the Group Chat. She protects Xiao Wu’s identity during an investigation, offers Bai Chenxiang’s struggling clan a place within her sect, and later takes an active interest in preserving the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s future 57 157 628.

She is also direct and proactive in romance. After seeing Su Yan only once, she becomes interested in him, refuses to retreat after learning Zhu Zhuqing is his girlfriend, and openly competes for his affection 41 52 74.

Her early romantic competitiveness is tempered when Zhu Zhuqing persuades her that their shared affection for Su Yan should unite rather than divide them. Ning Rongrong apologizes and agrees that she, Zhu Zhuqing, and Xiao Wu should cooperate. Soon afterward, she restrains her impulse to outspend Xiao Wu when the latter gives Su Yan money, choosing not to turn her friend’s gesture into a competition 75.

Her confidence grows considerably after acquiring the Bright Jade Skill and System Soul Rings. Rather than accepting the conventional limits of a support Soul Master, she openly calls herself a combat-type Soul Master and develops her pagoda skills around overwhelming, repeatable amplification 245 246 271.

Her approach to Soul Skill design favors improving her martial soul’s existing strengths over creating unrelated or flashy abilities. She conceives infinitely stackable amplification herself, but recognizes that ordinary Soul Power reserves would prevent her from exploiting it fully without the Bright Jade Skill 245.

Ning Rongrong distinguishes herself sharply from her God Realm counterparts. Upon learning of the Nine-Colored Goddess’s involvement in Tang San’s actions, she asserts that different lives produce different values and vows that she would personally end that alternate self if they met 423.

Her provocative humor also becomes a form of psychological attack. During her confrontation with her alternate self, she combines criticism of Tang San’s treatment of the sect with deliberately exaggerated descriptions of her own achievements and friendships, leaving her counterpart emotionally devastated 625 626.

Her mischievous streak persists in later interactions. Together with Xiao Wu, she pressures the Douluo Dalu 2 Ice Empress into serving them by threatening to reveal her embarrassing secret and call her the “Second-Generation Bed-Bottom Douluo” 1100.

Opinions differ: some members consider their combined strength too great, while Zhu Zhuqing argues that unlimited stacking and Ning Rongrong’s fully mastered martial arts could give her a chance if they cannot defeat her immediately. Group Chat and Nuoding City

Ning Rongrong joins the Group Chat as the Seven Treasures Little Princess, participates in its arguments and image-sharing antics, and establishes herself as one of its wealthiest members 3 14. After spotting Su Yan outside Nuoding City, she shares his photograph in the chat and asks the others to help her find him 41.

She meets Xiao Wu in secret, identifies her through their agreed red-string signal, and helps conceal Xiao Wu’s circumstances from the rest of the chat 42 57.

After learning that Xiao Wu’s classmate Su Yan is Little Monkey’s Master and has defeated Tang San, Ning Rongrong deduces that he is probably the same Su Yan who belongs to their Group Chat. She also suspects a connection between him and Cat in the Shadow when neither responds to their messages 43.

Her interest in becoming more than a conventional support Soul Master appears early. When the group discusses Custom Created Soul Skills, she realizes that a Support Soul Master might create a skill enabling direct combat 27.

Shrek Academy and Su Yan’s Circle

At Shrek Academy, Ning Rongrong initially considers acting on her old habits by avoiding training, but Zhu Zhuqing and Xiao Wu intervene. She instead completes Flender’s running assignment seriously 83. During an early test, she supports Su Yan, Zhu Zhuqing, Xiao Wu, Tang San, and Su Yan’s Little Monkey with Strength and Speed boosts 70.

Her infatuation with Su Yan begins before she learns his identity. Although Zhu Zhuqing is already his girlfriend, Ning Rongrong refuses to withdraw and instead treats their relationship as a competition she intends to join 43 52 74.

Zhu Zhuqing subsequently confronts her over attempts to interfere with their relationship, warning that Su Yan will attract other outstanding women and that Ning Rongrong’s position as sect heiress does not entitle her to possess him alone. Ning Rongrong apologizes, and the three girls agree to cooperate rather than fight among themselves. Her decision not to compete with Xiao Wu over giving Su Yan money immediately demonstrates this change 74 75.

Zhu Zhuqing also motivates her to train by explaining that she must work hard to keep pace with the increasingly accomplished women around Su Yan. Ning Rongrong runs so earnestly that Flender, who expected to discipline a spoiled princess, instead concludes that her family’s expectations are excessively harsh 83.

While traveling with the group, she participates in its retaliatory pranks against Ma Xiaotao. Together with Ye Lingling and Xiao Wu, she pressures the injured Ma Hongjun into recording a demand that his “unfilial descendant” admit her mistake. She and Xiao Wu later release their Soul Power to demonstrate that the students have reached level thirty or higher, supporting Su Yan’s argument against further exhausting physical training 148.

Her relationship with Su Yan becomes explicitly mutual during their stay in the Star Dou Great Forest. She then insists on practicing a true Martial Soul Fusion Skill with him, comparing herself competitively with Zhu Zhuqing and persevering through their first session 187 189.

Following this cultivation, she is promoted to Group Chat administrator. Her promotion attracts attention from established members and helps the newly joined Tang Ya identify her as Ning Rongrong 190.

Evolution into the Nine Treasures Little Princess

After studying the Nine Yin Manual, Ning Rongrong senses the possibility of surpassing the Seven Treasures Pagoda’s limits. Her martial soul eventually evolves into the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, fulfilling the dream shared by generations of sect disciples 126 140 271.

The evolution is first demonstrated after she absorbs an Immortal Herb from Su Yan. She reports level-33 Soul Power and summons the new pagoda before subsequently boasting about it throughout the Group Chat under her new name 139 140.

She then receives exceptional Group Chat rewards, including System Soul Rings and the Bright Jade Skill, which transform her from a conventional support Soul Master into a combat-capable fighter 243 244. Using the Bright Jade Skill’s immense reserves, she develops the pagoda’s Soul Power, Strength, and defensive buffs into repeatedly stackable effects 245 246 272.

At level 44, she demonstrates six consecutive Soul Power boosts at the Rose Hotel and challenges the Group Chat’s assumptions about support Soul Masters. During a later Shrek team battle, she applies seven Soul Power boosts and ten defensive boosts, leaving Flender, Zhao Wuji, Yu Xiaogang, and Tang San shocked by her System-developed skills 246 271 272.

During that team battle, she fights alongside Xiao Wu and Ye Lingling against Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun, and Oscar. Once Flender concedes defeat, she and Xiao Wu each punch the previously unscathed Oscar, claiming that leaving him unharmed while beating his teammates would create resentment within their team 270 271 274.

Rebuilding the Sect’s Future

After learning of a future in which the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect is devastated, Sword and Bone Douluo die, and her alternate self leaves the sect’s interests behind, Ning Rongrong rejects that path 302 307 627. She supplies the sect with Soul Tools and manufacturing techniques, aligns it with Spirit Hall through Su Yan’s group, and ensures that Sword and Bone Douluo will not share their foretold fate 457 459 628.

Her reaction to the original future is immediate and emotional. Although she initially welcomes Su Yan’s praise of her talent and prospects, the revelation of her grandfather figures’ deaths and her father’s grief brings her to tears. Later, angered by the account of Tang San’s treatment of the sect, she asks Dugu Yan to beat him on her behalf 302 309.

During her time in the Douluo Dalu 2 world, Ning Rongrong studies the principles of Soul Tools, recognizing both their strategic value and the difficulty of mastering their manufacture 331.

During Su Yan’s visit to the sect, Ning Rongrong openly presents his companions as trusted allies and supports her father’s decision to cooperate with Spirit Hall when doing so benefits the sect’s survival and growth 459 463.

She also tells Sword and Bone Douluo that she already knows Xiao Wu and Ah Yin are transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts, identifying them and other Soul Beast companions as her good sisters 460.

Ning Fengzhi’s acquisition of the Aromatic Silk Beauty gives the sect a further path beyond its historical limitations. By supporting her father’s martial soul evolution alongside the sect’s technological modernization, Ning Rongrong works to establish the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect as a durable force rather than a nominally honored remnant 459 896.

Her concern for the sect extends to its later-world descendants. She secretly passes the Bright Jade Skill to Ning Tian and hopes that Ning Tian, Wu Feng, and Nanmen Yun’er can contend for the New Student Competition championship. Following their defeat, she encourages Ning Tian to focus on cultivation rather than blame herself for losing to an exceptionally powerful System-created Soul Skill 545 551.

Confrontation with Her God Realm Counterpart

Ning Rongrong confronts the Ning Rongrong of the Douluo Dalu 2 world, criticizing her for abandoning the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s original goal to serve as Tang Sect’s vice sect master 624 627. She demonstrates her own level-50 cultivation, five black soul rings, and stacked pagoda buffs to show the difference created by her altered path 625 627.

She argues that Tang San’s victory gave the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect only nominal honor while Sword and Bone Douluo died and the sect lost its practical strength. In contrast, she has equipped her own sect with Soul Tool technology, allied it with Spirit Hall, and changed the future in which her father is left bereaved 627 628.

Her criticism also targets Tang San’s postwar Hidden Weapon policy. She accuses him of ordering the weapons destroyed and refusing further supplies even though the sect had already lost its strongest protectors and many Support Soul Masters. When her counterpart calls cooperation with Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue a betrayal, she answers that those alliances have preserved the sect and its elders rather than sacrificing them 626.

Her criticism is later enforced through the Rakshasa God’s punishment of the Douluo Dalu 2 Ning Rongrong, with the punishment explicitly delivered in the name of Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, and Bone Douluo 821.

Ning Rongrong personally supplies the accusations accompanying the punishment, directing the Rakshasa God to act on behalf of their father and grandfather figures. Earlier, when her counterpart becomes emotionally vulnerable before Tang San, she angrily demands further punishment while the Group Chat speculates that the counterpart may retain romantic feelings for him despite her relationship with Oscar 813 814 819.

She later extends this condemnation to the Ning Rongrong of the Douluo Dalu 3 world, calling both later-world counterparts a disgrace to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 1007. She teleports from the Douluo Dalu 2 world to stand beside Su Yan during this confrontation 1005. The Douluo Dalu 3 counterpart subsequently takes blame to protect Tang San and the other members of her group when Wang Dong’er’s fate is exposed 1009 1011.

When that counterpart claims responsibility for arranging the events surrounding Wang Dong’er’s death, Ning Rongrong and Su Yan ridicule the explanation. Both versions of Tang San nevertheless support the cover story, with Tang San asking Dai Yuhao to forgive her 1009.

Grandparent-Grandchild Match
