Background

Yu Xiaogang was born into the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan as the son of clan leader Yu Yuanzhen. His inherited Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Martial Soul mutated into Luo Sanpao, a pig-like Martial Soul with corporeal form and independent intelligence. He was later expelled from the clan. 30

Yu Xiaogang states that he has not seen his mother since childhood. During his escape from Martial Soul Hall, he mistakes the disguised Liu Erlong and her Holy Light Dragon Martial Soul for evidence that his mother had secretly protected him for years. 758

Yu Xiaogang was a Soul Grand Master whose Soul Power remained permanently at level 29. He became known throughout the continent as “Master” for compiling the Ten Great Martial Soul Theories, though Su Yan alleges that the theories were compiled from Martial Soul Hall records and contain major flaws. 30 60 237

Conflict with Liu Erlong

Martial Soul Hall Incident

After being forcibly castrated, Yu Xiaogang wrongly attributes the act to Su Yan and resolves to seek Bibi Dong’s protection in Martial Soul City. 369 370

He arrives at Martial Soul Hall expecting to meet Bibi Dong, mistakes Hu Liena for her, requests the cultivation method for Twin Martial Souls, and guarantees that Tang San will never oppose Martial Soul Hall. Hu Liena rejects him and has him punished. 524 525

Yu Xiaogang and Flender are subsequently forced into a confession game in which refusal to reveal their past misdeeds would result in the other being stabbed. Yu Xiaogang initially insists that he has done nothing shameful. 526

Liu Erlong later reveals that Bibi Dong ordered his castration, destroying his belief that Bibi Dong remained his last dependable connection. 532

Heavenly Prison

After recovering from his injuries, Yu Xiaogang is transferred to Heavenly Prison. There, he meets Jie Ge, who protects him from other prisoners and suffers punishment for doing so. 551 559

Yu Xiaogang's imprisonment is part of a wider scheme arranged by Hu Liena, Liu Erlong, Chrysanthemum Douluo, and Ghost Douluo. Chrysanthemum Douluo deliberately exploits the prison environment, its inmates, and Yu Xiaogang's isolation to cultivate emotional dependence and manipulate him psychologically. 551 553 753 756

Yu Xiaogang is assaulted and nearly brainwashed by Scarface Bro, but resists. Jie Ge subsequently breaks into the prison, frees him, and attempts to kill Scarface Bro; Yu Xiaogang stops Jie Ge so they can escape instead. 605 755

Jie Ge later returns with the Strong Bear Brothers to assist Yu Xiaogang. While Jie Ge is placed in solitary confinement, Yu Xiaogang suffers further abuse from the Strong Bear Brothers and becomes increasingly emotionally fragile. 664 683

By Chapter 850, Yu Xiaogang is working as a prostitute to cover Jie Ge’s medical expenses and save money for their escape from Spirit City. As wanted fugitives without money, he and Jie Ge need enough funds to obtain high-level Soul Beast mounts and flee the city. 850

By Chapter 950, Tang San has learned only that Martial Soul Hall previously captured Yu Xiaogang and that he was later rescued; Yu Xiaogang's whereabouts remain unknown to his former disciple. 950
