Xiao Wu is the fifth child of a Soft Bone Rabbit family. Her father died during her childhood; her mother, Ah Rou, raised her with gentleness and strength. After Xiao Wu transformed into human form, Bibi Dong’s people hunted Ah Rou. Though Da Ming and Er Ming invited her into the Star Dou Great Forest’s core area, Xiao Wu chose to enter the human world instead. 341

In the unaltered future recounted by Su Yan, Xiao Wu met Tang San shortly after leaving the forest. Her attachment to him displaced her cultivation and her goal of avenging Ah Rou. During their time at Nuoding Academy, she and Tang San each reached level 29, despite Xiao Wu’s superior innate foundation. 341

Her true identity as a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast was eventually exposed. Tang Hao rescued her and Tang San, after which Xiao Wu hid in the Star Dou Great Forest for five years while Tang San continued his training elsewhere. Tang San later returned at level 59; during their flight, Xiao Wu and Tang San entered the territory of a Man-Faced Demon Spider, where Xiao Wu sacrificed both her soul and her Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring to him. 342 343

In the altered timeline, Xiao Wu’s relationship with Tang San is less close because she initially stayed in the regular girls’ dormitory rather than Dormitory Seven. Personality

Xiao Wu is initially straightforward, emotional, and protective of those she considers friends. He also explains that her eventual ascension does not give her an independent divine position: she becomes the sheath of the Asura Sword. Tang Ya notes that neither Tang Sect nor Shrek records assign Ancestor Xiao Wu a divine position, prompting further teasing from the group. 340
