Usage and Significance

- Distinct from sect office: Fan Jian’s position in the Divine Sword Sect does not replace his relationship with Chen Changan. He still addresses Chen as “Master,” surprising outsiders who did not know he had a teacher 665.
- Basis for ancestral standing: Because Chen Changan is Cao Moheng’s master, his presence at Sword Wielding Peak leads to his recognition as the peak’s Ancestor rather than an ordinary new disciple 612 615.
- Not a cultivation rank: Disciples continue using the title despite Chen Changan’s apparently low cultivation. Their faith rests on his past guidance and demonstrated strength 619 620 701.

Background / History
Chen Changan is initially identified as a disciple of Mu Yunyao. Da Huang treats her strength as a benchmark when assessing Chen’s potential, while Gu Fenghua regards anyone accepted by her as exceptional. Chen can recognize signs of her presence through familiarity with her habits 7 159.
Chen later takes disciples of his own. He accepts Ye Zhi Qiu because of the young man’s seriousness, perseverance, and Supreme Sword Body. His instruction includes correcting Ye’s tendency to underestimate his combat strength 106 111.
In the Divine Realm, Cao Moheng recognizes Chen as his master and immediately offers personal cultivation resources. The Divine Sword Sect’s founders remember Chen as the person who accepted them when others had dismissed them as useless, taught them, and guided their growth 612 618.
Their reunion transforms Chen’s standing within the sect. Li Mubai publicly identifies him as the Sword Wielding Peak Master’s teacher and the peak’s Ancestor, prompting elders and disciples to apologize and treat him with reverence 615.
