Background / History

Following the Dragon-Han Primordial Tribulation, Yuanshi travelled the recovering Prehistoric World with Laozi and Tongtian. Unlike Laozi, who regarded ruin as a natural cycle, Yuanshi found the lingering devastation, blood aura, and disorder intolerable. During this journey, he sensed an inexplicable resonance from the depths of the East Sea and insisted on pursuing it despite being unable to deduce its source. 28 29

The resonance led the Three Pure Ones to the Root of World Purification—Su Miao—whose connection to them was characterized as father-daughter karma rather than blood relation. Yuanshi remained outside her Innate Grand Formation for thousands of years, refusing Tongtian's attempts to force entry because damaging the formation could harm the island and its essence. 32 35 36

After meeting Su Miao, Yuanshi converted Fangzhang Immortal Island into a portable island model for her, despite the immense expenditure of mana and mental energy required. He later housed her at Jade Purity Peak, taught her cultivation and proper conduct, and helped formally establish her as the Three Pure Ones' shared disciple and daughter before Heaven and Earth. 47 56 67
