"A lunatic, a lunatic, that Raikage is just an arrogant lunatic."
In the Tsuchikage's office, the Tsuchikage shouted loudly, slamming the table after reading the intelligence report.
"Since that bastard Raikage dares to declare war on us Stone Ninja, we cannot sit idly by. Send a contingent to resist the Cloud Ninja, and at the same time, we must set our sights on the Leaf Village."
Hearing Ōnoki's words, the elder council members were taken aback. Ōnoki wanted to attack on two fronts, not only resisting the Cloud Ninja but also trying to take a piece out of the Leaf Village. His ambition was certainly bold.
"Isn't this decision too dangerous? If we only fight the Cloud Ninja, we will inevitably suffer heavy losses. With the Leaf Village added to the mix, do we still have a chance of victory?"
"Indeed, the Leaf Village is full of talented individuals. The White Fang and the Sannin are renowned throughout the ninja world and are not to be trifled with."
An elder from the council asked.
"There will definitely be sacrifices in war. It's precisely because the Leaf Village is too strong and has too many talents that the Cloud Ninja are playing a long game. The Third Shinobi World War was specifically prepared for the Leaf Village."
"What?"
The elder found it unbelievable.
"The Cloud Ninja are dragging us into this to prevent the Leaf Village from fighting with their full strength. They know I won't pass up this rare opportunity and will inevitably join the war to encroach upon the Leaf Village. This is an open scheme."
Ōnoki confidently elaborated on the Cloud Ninja's plan. The elder council members suddenly understood.
"I will personally guard the rear, and I appoint Kitsuchi as the overall commander of the offensive."
"Yes, Lord Tsuchikage."
The Land of Thunder, the Land of Earth, the Land of Wind, and the Leaf Village all began mobilizing their forces, and the atmosphere in the ninja world rapidly tensed.
"Jiraiya, you will lead a team of ninja to guard the border of the Land of Wind. Do not let a single Sand ninja set foot in the Land of Fire."
"Understood."
Jiraiya accepted his teacher's orders with a serious expression and a firm tone. Originally, the most suitable commander for guarding the Land of Wind's border was Hatake Sakumo, but since Hatake Sakumo had left the ninja profession, the responsibility fell to Jiraiya.
"Orochimaru, you will be responsible for leading troops to block the Cloud Ninja's advance. There's no need to annihilate them; simply repel them from our borders."
"Understood."
"Minato, the border of the Land of Earth will be entrusted to you. That old fellow Ōnoki will certainly not pass up this opportunity to try and gain some advantage from our Leaf Village."
"I will guard the border well, Lord Hokage."
"And then there's Kirigakure. Who should be sent to deal with them?"
Hiruzen Sarutobi asked. Once a Ninja World War began, no ninja village could remain uninvolved. Whether passively or actively, they would be drawn into the vortex of war.
"Leave it to the Uchiha and the Hyuga."
Danzo spoke up. Danzo, the workhorse, was always looking for opportunities for promotion while suppressing the Uchiha, using any means necessary. Kirigakure's environment was not suitable for the fire-attribute Uchiha, so he acted as if he didn't see them. In his eyes, only dead Uchiha were good Uchiha.
Hiruzen Sarutobi thought for a moment and agreed with his trusted companion's suggestion.
"Danzo, your Root organization will be responsible for intelligence transmission. We cannot have our forces fighting blindly on the battlefield."
"I understand."
"Good. I wish you all victory."
Under the Hokage's command, the Leaf Village, a war machine, bared its fangs. Teams of ninja, neatly organized, transported supplies to the borders.
Karot and Kakashi naturally received the news as well, though they were not assigned to the same team.
Minato Namikaze was Kakashi's teacher and was responsible for the border of the Land of Earth, so Kakashi was naturally assigned to his team. Karot's assigned team, however, fell under the command of Orochimaru, one of the Sannin.
"Kakashi, be careful of your safety on the battlefield."
Hatake Sakumo cautioned his son. Swords and blades are blind on the battlefield; an individual is as insignificant as a small ripple, and one never knows when they will cease to shine.
"This is the last gift I can give you."
Hatake Sakumo took out his sword, a companion he had wielded on countless battlefields, and gave it to Kakashi, hoping it would protect him during the war.
"Father, this is too precious."
Kakashi tried to refuse, but Hatake Sakumo gave him no chance.
"You are the only one who has inherited the Hatake Family Swordsmanship. If you don't accept this sword, it will only gather dust. Take it."
Kakashi accepted it with both hands and solemnly tied it to his back, vowing not to let his father's intentions go in vain.
"Karot, you... I have nothing to tell you."
Hatake Sakumo thought for a long time before saying this. There was nothing he could really advise on. Karot's strength already surpassed his own father's, so what else was there to say?
"Huh?"
Karot was stunned.
"Father, you gave Kakashi so many instructions, but just this for me? Don't you love me anymore?"
Karot acted like a jealous child.
In the end, Hatake Sakumo had to pay a large sum of money to appease Karot.
"Kakashi, the war has begun. Be sure to stay safe!"
Karot looked at Kakashi, his expression serious as he cautioned him. Ever since he had come to live in this world, he had accepted this world's father and brother from the bottom of his heart. He couldn't bear to think what crazy things he might do if something were to happen to Kakashi.
"Brother, you too, be careful. I don't want to lose you after the war is over."
"Heh."
Karot chuckled at Kakashi's words.
"After the war ends, I'm definitely coming back to beat you up."
The two brothers exchanged a final glance before each rejoined their respective teams and set off.
Leaf Village's mobilization was naturally not hidden from its villagers. All the residents knew that the Third Shinobi World War had arrived. Countless parents, wives, and husbands were praying for their loved ones, hoping for their safe return.
"Karot, over here."
Sanada's loud voice immediately caught Karot's attention.
"You're really slow, always like this."
Sanada complained.
"Because the protagonist always makes a late entrance. Besides, Lord Orochimaru hasn't arrived yet, what's the rush?"
"You..."
Matsushita quickly intervened as the two disciples were about to argue. So many ninja had gathered here, and he, Matsushita Hokuto, didn't want to lose face.
"This battle is very different from previous ones. We won't be operating in small teams anymore; the teams will be broken up."
"Kazumi, you will be operating with the medical corps."
"And you, Sanada, you've been assigned to the reconnaissance unit. You need to be careful in everything you do, as the reconnaissance unit is the first to engage the enemy."
"As for you, Karot, I don't have much to tell you. With your strength, as long as you don't cause trouble on the battlefield, you'll be able to protect yourself."
"Teacher, I'm the most disciplined person, I never cause trouble."
Not causing trouble? As long as you eliminate everyone involved in an incident, then there won't be any trouble.
