Background

Minato is Jiraiya's disciple and a renowned user of the Flying Thunder God Technique. His reputation and mastery of the technique lead Hatake Sakumo to approve Kakashi becoming his student. Minato chooses Kakashi despite Karot being considered the more naturally gifted Hatake brother. 18 19

During the Third Shinobi World War, Minato commands the Land of Earth border sector, with Kakashi assigned to his team. He is deeply attached to Obito as well; when Karot confirms Obito survived, Minato immediately tries to determine where his disciple was taken. 27 47
