"Whoa, there are quite a few people here."
Karot and Naruto arrived at the Hokage's office. It was the same place, but a different person sat in the Hokage's seat now: Princess Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage of Konoha.
"Hello, Tsunade-sama. Jiraiya-sama."
After greeting them, Karot kept staring at Kakashi.
"I'm not used to seeing you like this, Kakashi."
Karot had spent over ten years with Kakashi. Seeing the Kakashi from the future all of a sudden felt strange.
"You're Karot, right? Are you a Konoha shinobi too? I've looked through all the ninja records, but there's no information about you."
Tsunade, seated at the desk, spoke up.
Karot glanced at Naruto and thought,
This kid's pretty decent. He didn't tell them who I am.
Naruto even nodded at Karot, as if to say, See? I'm a good friend, right?
But Karot had no intention of keeping his identity secret. Since she'd asked, he'd answer.
"My name is Hatake Karot. I'm Hatake Kakashi's older brother."
As soon as Karot finished speaking, everyone except Naruto gaped. They scrutinized Karot and Kakashi, comparing them back and forth. Other than their white hair, there was nothing alike about them.
Kakashi himself found it ridiculous. You say you're my older brother, but you look younger than me.
"Impossible," Kakashi said.
"Kid, do you think this is funny? Don't try to fob us off with such a pathetic excuse," Tsunade said, slamming her hand on the desk.
She released a powerful aura to try to intimidate Karot, but it had no effect on him.
"See, Naruto? Nobody believes me even when I tell the truth."
Karot knew how absurd this sounded to them, so he could only call on Naruto to vouch for him.
