Purple Cloud Palace stands in the Outer Heavens. It is slightly higher than the Thirty-Six Heavens, while the route to the Taixu Barrier rises far beyond it. From above, it overlooks the Primordial World. 168 170

• The first journey to the palace requires passing through the Gale Domain and the Great Dao Fragment Domain; the Gale Domain alone can shred a mid-stage Grand Unity Golden Immortal. 30
• During the first sermon, the Gale Domain surrounds the palace from roughly one million miles away, forming a deadly practical threshold for prospective listeners. 30
• The palace is described as magnificent and ethereal, with Dao resonance, auspicious clouds, immortal music, golden lotuses, and clear Dao principles manifesting within. 30 33

History

First Sermon

After attaining sainthood, Hongjun announces that he will lecture on the Dao of the Grand Unity Golden Immortal at Purple Cloud Palace. Although the invitation is nominally open to all who hear it, the hazardous route prevents most weak cultivators from arriving. 29 30

Beichen reaches the palace after ninety-three years of travel with his disciples and guardians. Before the lecture, he takes the fourth of the six foremost cushions, while Nuwa is later invited to a cushion he reserved for her. 30 31

Hongjun closes and seals the palace gates once the audience is assembled, preventing the sermon from being heard outside. Beichen then advances to the Quasi-Saint realm at the opening of the lecture, disrupting the gathering and provoking Hongjun's attempt to expel him. 33 34 Beichen remains after receiving the Divine Light of Heaven and Earth Great Dao, which protects him from Saintly might. 35

The first sermon is further disrupted when Xihe gives birth to ten Golden Crows within the palace and Changxi also goes into labor. 37

Later Sermons and Treasure Bestowals

Hongjun announces a second sermon at Purple Cloud Palace concerning the path of the Quasi-Saint. 88 Attendance is far smaller than at the first sermon: fewer than one hundred cultivators arrive, most at the peak of the Grand Unity Golden Immortal realm or near the Quasi-Saint threshold. 93

During this sermon, Hongjun explains that severing the three corpses requires Supreme Grade Innate Spirit Treasures as vessels. 94 He later grants Dao treasures to his disciples, including treasures formed when the Thirty-Six Grade Creation Green Lotus divides into the Three Treasures Jade Ruyi, Green Ping Sword, and Taiyi Fly Whisk. 97

For the third sermon, a barrier is established around the palace. Only Quasi-Saints or those possessing the requisite fate may enter; Hong Yun and Minghe are initially blocked despite their cultivation. 109 110 Beichen forces his way inside after revealing that he has attained Sainthood outside the Primordial World, leading Hongjun to accommodate him to avoid a greater conflict. 110

After the final lecture, Hongjun distributes Dao treasures and seven strands of Hongmeng Purple Qi, then merges with the Heavenly Dao and disappears from the world. 114
