A note beforehand! This book is entirely based on my own imagination and follows most people's general understanding of the Primordial World's history. The power-ranking system is just a little different: Earth Immortal—Heavenly Immortal—Mystic Immortal—Golden Immortal—Grand Unity Golden Immortal—Great Luo Golden Immortal—Quasi-Sage (Hunyuan Golden Immortal)—Sage (Hunyuan Great Luo Golden Immortal). There are no Human Immortals here; during the Primordial World period, Earth Immortal is the lowest rank! If it differs from what you're used to, please don't flame me!
I'm a complete beginner as an author and have plenty of bad habits. I hope you'll leave kind comments! This book may not be quite what you imagine the Primordial World to be, so please go easy on me.
Let's put our brains here first.
The vast Chaos stretched on without end!
Since Pangu split heaven and earth, the Primordial Continent had undergone several Tribulations of Calamity! The Fierce Beast Tribulation and the Dragon-Phoenix Tribulation had both passed several Kalpas ago!
At this moment, the Primordial World was brimming with life and vitality!
Beside a winding, seemingly endless river in the east of the continent, an elegant and divine woman came from the horizon!
This woman was Nuwa. A thousand years had passed since the Dao Ancestor's third lecture, yet Nuwa still couldn't comprehend the Primordial Violet Qi! Lately she'd been feeling more and more restless, so she'd decided to go out for a walk!
Along the way, she saw countless strange and bizarre races, endlessly fighting everywhere! The Witch and Demon races were fighting ever more fiercely! Gazing at the towering Buzhou Mountain in the distance, she recalled Great God Pangu's figure as he split heaven and earth!
She looked at her reflection on the river's surface. When she had transformed, she'd followed the Heavenly Dao's guidance and taken a form resembling Great God Pangu. Only in such a form could one better comprehend the Great Dao in the world Pangu had created!
Looking at her reflection, a thought suddenly came to Nuwa: why not create a race directly in Great God Pangu's form, sparing them the suffering of transformation?
Nuwa took some earth from the riverbank and began shaping little clay figures. But no matter how she tried, she couldn't create a living being with intelligence!
Gazing at the stiff clay figures before her, Nuwa was troubled. The ordinary soil and river water were both common spiritual materials; perhaps they weren't suitable. She thought of the Nine Heavens Breathing Soil and Three Lights Divine Water she'd obtained earlier. Taking them out, she began shaping again. Perhaps by some mysterious twist of fate, she used far more Breathing Soil and Three Lights Divine Water on this first clay figure than she would on the ones that followed!
Before long, she had shaped a clay figure with a heroic face and a sturdy build. Still uneasy, Nuwa dripped a drop of her blood essence onto it. As she activated the Power of Creation, the figure's body instantly grew to the size of an adult! Its earthen form quickly turned to flesh and blood!
Jiang He had been an upstanding young man in the twenty-first century. He went to work, played games, and lived a life that was neither particularly good nor particularly bad. He'd just started dating someone a few days ago, and was on his way to meet her that evening when a damn dump truck hit him! His soul watched with its own eyes as the truck's wheels crushed his body!
He just kept floating upward and upward, unable to control himself. Jiang He thought, So souls really do exist! He watched the ground grow farther and farther away beneath him. He floated past the clouds, then past airplanes. When he reached the upper edge of the atmosphere, a dazzling ray of sunlight pierced his soul, and he lost consciousness! (Sorry, this part's a little long, but I still wanted to write it. I've had this dream since I was a kid, hehe!)
When Jiang He opened his eyes again, a beautiful woman in palace robes stood before him. She was noble and elegant, with an air of kindness that made him feel indescribably at ease!
As information flowed into his mind, Jiang He understood what had happened. He'd transmigrated—and into the Primordial World, no less!
He was the first member of the Human Race created by Empress Nuwa. The news both shocked and delighted him. As an avid reader of web novels in his past life, he knew what was coming. Since he'd transmigrated to the Primordial World, there was no point hoping for a lucky break. The setting might differ a little from the novels he'd read, but it wouldn't be too far off. Besides, judging from the information he'd just received, it was still on track!
Now, he needed to think about the successive hardships the newly born Human Race would face!
Nuwa looked at the clay figure before her. Once he opened his eyes, they were full of life; clearly, he had intelligence! Yet he made no move at all, which left Nuwa puzzled again. Was something still missing? She scanned the inside of his body and found a searing energy spreading from his soul throughout his body!
Nuwa glanced up at the sun, then made a hand seal. A ray of golden light shot down from the sky toward Jiang He, who absorbed it continuously!
Jiang He was startled by the sight, but he didn't have time to think. He quickly sat cross-legged and absorbed the energy. It had been filtered by Nuwa, so it wasn't as violent, and he soon drew it into his body!
He slowly got to his feet and bowed to Empress Nuwa. "Thank you, Mother Goddess!"

Seeing that the clay figure had gained intelligence and could even cultivate on his own, Nuwa was overjoyed. After carefully examining Jiang He's body, she was very pleased. This clay figure had been born with Mystic Immortal cultivation. That was pretty good!
"You were the first living being I created, and you were born beside this great river. I'll name you after it!"
"River! Thank you for bestowing a name upon me, Mother Goddess."
After receiving his name from Nuwa, Jiang He fell silent. The more he said, the more likely he was to make a mistake. He'd better watch and wait!
Nuwa then created a female clay figure modeled after herself. This time, with some experience, she used less material than she had for Jiang He!
Having learned from her experience with Jiang He, Nuwa eagerly examined the female figure's soul as soon as she had created her. But she found nothing—unlike Jiang He, there was no solar energy in her body! Nuwa dripped another drop of blood essence onto the woman, but still nothing happened!
"Could it be because River is male and this one is female? That's it. Men belong to yang and women to yin. Perhaps she can't absorb the sun's energy!" Nuwa sighed softly.
Then she turned her palm over, and a Green-skinned Gourd appeared in her hand. A stream of moonlight was drawn down from the hidden moon in the sky. After being transformed by the gourd, it became pure yin energy and flowed into the woman's body, circulating in a unique way!
Once the woman had finished absorbing it, she also rose and bowed to Nuwa. "Thank you, Mother Goddess."
Seeing that the woman had reached the early stage of Mystic Immortal, Nuwa thought it wasn't as impressive as Jiang He's late stage, but still quite good! She then said, "You were born with moonlight as your guide. I'll name you after the moon."
Unlike Jiang He, Yue had lived only one life and was still rather innocent. She was curious about everything, and happily thanked Nuwa at once. "Moon, thank you for bestowing a name upon me!"
After that, Nuwa created twelve hundred Innate Human Race members, one after another, based on the two figures' forms. She grew more experienced as she went, using less and less Breathing Soil and Three Lights Divine Water. Nor did she lavish the same care on them as she had on Jiang He and Yue, carefully drawing in the power of the sun and moon to infuse their bodies!
Jiang He watched, growing more and more anxious. These were the future pillars of the Human Race! They would determine the upper limit of the race's growth. They couldn't repeat the mistakes of the past!
Just as Jiang He was getting frantic, he saw Nuwa take out a Gourd Vine. Oh no! She can't use that!
Jiang He darted in front of Empress Nuwa and cried anxiously, "Mother Goddess! You can't use that!"
Nuwa had just shaped over a thousand clay figures and was exhausted in body and mind. She'd thought of using the Gourd Vine, coated with Breathing Soil, and her magic power to create them directly. It would save a lot of time and effort! She hadn't expected the first person she'd created, River, to step forward and stop her!
Perhaps everyone favored their first child. Nuwa was no exception; she felt a special affection for River and Yue! She especially adored Yue, the child who had received two drops of her blood essence!
"River! Why are you stopping me? What do you mean, I can't use it?" Nuwa asked Jiang He in confusion!
Uh! Jiang He hadn't thought of what to say just yet. In his hurry, he blurted out, "Mother Goddess, I don't know either. But the moment you took out the Gourd Vine, I felt as though I was about to lose something. It felt dangerous!"
Hearing River's words, Nuwa was puzzled and began divining. But the secrets of the Heavenly Dao were hazy, as if something were obscuring them!
While Nuwa was divining, Jiang He quickly gathered his thoughts!
"Mother Goddess! When the other clanspeople were just born, I somehow sensed that the stronger they were, the greater the benefit to me! Do you know what's going on?" Jiang He didn't dare mention Merit outright, so he could only hint at it. He guessed that the greater the Human Race's potential for growth and the stronger its members became, the more Merit Nuwa would gain, wouldn't she?
Wouldn't using the Gourd Vine indirectly reduce the amount of Merit Nuwa would receive in the future? Jiang He didn't dare guess whether Nuwa wanted to use the Gourd Vine herself or whether there was some conspiracy behind it. He could only drop a subtle hint.
Looking at the various eras of the Primordial World, it seemed as if Empress Nuwa had become a different person. Before she became a Sage, she was the very embodiment of kindness and divinity; otherwise, she wouldn't have created the Human Race! But after becoming a Sage, she became the very embodiment of divinity, with no kindness left! After that, she was schemed against time and again! In the end, her elder brother died, the Human Race's faith was lost, and she was left alone in Wa Huang Tian!
(This book does not portray Empress Nuwa in a bad light. Empress Nuwa is the ancestor of the Han Chinese mythology! Nuwa Creates Humans, Nuwa Mends the Heavens, and so on—here, she's a positive figure! Please forgive me if this causes any inconvenience to your reading experience.)
