Background / History

Unable to comprehend the Primordial Violet Qi after the Dao Ancestor's third sermon, Nuwa wandered the Primordial Continent. Seeing the ongoing conflict among its races and recalling Pangu's creation of heaven and earth, she conceived the idea of creating a new race in Pangu's image 1.

Her first attempts with ordinary soil and river water produced only insentient clay figures. Using Nine Heavens Breathing Soil and Three Lights Divine Water instead, then adding her vital blood and Power of Creation, she successfully created Jiang He, the first human. She later created Yue in her own image, using Taiyin lunar essence to awaken her 1.

After Jiang He warned her against using a gourd vine to mass-produce humanity, Nuwa altered her method. She created 1,200 innate humans by hand, then used the Five-Colored Divine Stone, Three Lights Divine Water, her essence blood, and the essence of a kalpa's worth of humans to create a further 129,600 humans 1 2. The merit of this act elevated her to Sagehood 2.

Nuwa named the new people the Human Race, appointed Jiang He as their Clan Leader, and protected their territory for ten thousand years by forbidding entry to anyone above the Earth Immortal realm 2. She is also practical and severe when necessary. Nuwa believes the Human Race must become strong rather than depend on shelter, technology, or external advantages. She chastises Jiang He for allowing his people to focus excessively on external things and explains that a race's fortune depends on its powerful members, not merely its population 24.
