Background

Nuwa created Jiang He from Nine Heavens Breathing Soil and Three Lights Divine Water after ordinary soil and river water failed to produce sentient life. As her first successful creation, he was born with unusual standing and became the first human beneath Heaven. 1 3

From his earliest days, Jiang He was cautious about the Human Race's future. He stopped Nuwa from using a gourd vine to mass-produce humans, fearing that their potential and strength would suffer. He later helped organize the early Human Race while Yue served as its leader. 1 3

Nuwa brought Jiang He and Yue to Wa Huang Tian after attaining sainthood. Following her thousand-year sermon, she praised Jiang He's management of the Human Race, rewarded him with a Sun Moon Golden Wheel, and instructed him to make the tribe prosper. 5

Personality

Jiang He is pragmatic, cautious, and intensely protective of humanity. He repeatedly prepares the Human Race for dangers beyond its territory, recalls scattered cultivators during wartime, and prioritizes defensive stability when conflict threatens to overextend his people. 8 18 31

He is also willing to reassess his own failures. After Nuwa rebuked humanity's reliance on external technology, Jiang He admitted that he had treated the Human Race like a simulation rather than a people whose inner strength had to be cultivated. He then redirected policy toward cultivation, combat experience, and self-reliance. 24 25

Despite his position, Jiang He values directness and personal bonds. He befriended Kuafu over food and drink, treated Ao Jia as a junior, and warmly received Zuo Qianhu after recognizing him as someone he had helped in the Red Dust Realm. 9 26 56
