Background and History

Di Jun's likeness first becomes notorious when Daoist Cihang uses Zhao Gongming's magic treasure to summon a feminized, twin-tailed Dharma Image carrying Di Jun's aura. Sect Master Tongtian mistakes Cihang for Di Jun's daughter, beginning a series of rumors that damage the Demon Emperor's reputation 11.

Kunpeng later records the transformed image, showing Di Jun in a miniskirt and calling himself “Dijun-chan.” The recording frightens Kunpeng, alarms Eastern Emperor Taiyi, and causes Empress Xihe to suspect Di Jun of infidelity; Di Jun himself is initially unaware of the source of the panic 23 24 27.

Seeking an advantage over Di Jiang, Di Jun supplies the Primordial Star Essence for Zhao Gongming to forge a conceptual defensive treasure. He deploys the River Diagram and Luo Script's Hunyuan River-Luo Great Array to protect Zhao Gongming during the refinement 30.

Appearance

Di Jun normally presents himself as a majestic imperial figure, wearing imperial robes and carrying the River Diagram and Luo Script. His power manifests as a vast three-legged Golden Crow Dharma Image engulfed in True Sun Fire 38 153.

  • Possesses an imposing, regal bearing befitting the Demon Emperor 24 38.
  • Uses the golden The More You Hit, The More Excited You Get Armor in battle 30 39.
  • His summoned feminized Dharma Image has golden twin ponytails, a miniskirt, and a deliberately cute mannerism; it is an artifact-induced manifestation rather than his normal form 24 27.

Personality

Di Jun values imperial dignity and the Demon Court's prestige, but his pride repeatedly collides with Zhao Gongming's artifacts and their humiliating side effects. He is highly competitive with Di Jiang, readily escalating their rivalry into public confrontations, yet can cooperate with him when their interests align 30 38 39.

He is protective of his family and subordinates. He shields Lu Ya from Taiyi's mistaken attack, comforts Lu Ya after being reunited in another world, and offers Zhao Gongming the Demon Court's protection 27 40 153. Di Jun is also generous when cultivating loyalty, gifting rare material to Wu Zhiqi and commissioning treasures for Taiyi 58 135.

Despite his grandiose manner, Di Jun is easily restrained by Xihe's displeasure. He immediately ceases attacking Di Jiang when Wangshu invokes Xihe's name 166.

Abilities & Skills

Golden Crow Authority

Di Jun is a peak Quasi-Saint Demon Emperor whose power is associated with the three-legged Golden Crow and True Sun Fire 153.

  • Wields True Sun Fire, an extremely yang flame capable of burning the heavens and boiling the seas; it is a signature ability of Di Jun and Taiyi 30.
  • Can manifest a sky-covering three-legged Golden Crow Dharma Image, projecting overwhelming imperial pressure 153.
  • Commands the Demon Court and can rally its cultivators and armies under his authority 153.

River Diagram and Luo Script

Di Jun's companion treasure is the River Diagram and Luo Script 30.

  • Forms the Hunyuan River-Luo Great Array, creating a secure space for artifact refinement 30.
  • Can be used defensively to block the Chaos Bell's assault and protect Lu Ya 27.

Conceptual Artifact Combat

Di Jun relies heavily on Zhao Gongming's conceptual-grade treasures, accepting their social consequences in exchange for overwhelming advantages 30 71.

  • The armor grants absolute defense against opponents in the same realm, nullifying their attacks and converting the force into Di Jun's mana recovery 30.
  • The Gloves of Free Combat carry one-punch knockout and dizziness laws, allowing him to interrupt Di Jiang's spatial escape and defeat stronger opponents through direct strikes 71 72.
  • In the cyber cultivation world, he uses the armor and gloves to repel four peak Quasi-Saint attackers, including the Four Great Evil Gods 153.
  • He confronts Khorne's projection alone, trusting his armor and boxing gloves to overcome an opponent at the peak Quasi-Saint level 155 156.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • River Diagram and Luo Script — Di Jun's companion treasure; establishes the Hunyuan River-Luo Great Array 27 30.

  • Primordial Star Essence — A stellar material Di Jun collected over billions of years and supplied for the creation of his armor 30.
  • Sea-Calming Cold Iron Mother — Rare forging material gifted by Di Jun to Wu Zhiqi, later used to create the Sky-Pillar White Jade Rod 135.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Demon Emperor Reputation Crisis

The artifact-induced feminized Dharma Image causes Kunpeng, Taiyi, Xihe, and Lu Ya to misconstrue Di Jun's behavior. Di Jun is forced to confront a recording of the incident and suffers severe public embarrassment despite having no control over Cihang's summoned manifestation 23 24 27.

Rivalry with Di Jiang

Di Jun and Di Jiang each commission conceptual treasures from Zhao Gongming, then test them against one another's allies. Their armor-and-stretcher combination humiliates and extorts East King Duke, demonstrating both their destructive rivalry and their effectiveness as a temporary team 30 39.

The pair later cooperate to protect Zhao Gongming and Bixiao from East King Duke, and Di Jun promises that the Demon Court will back Zhao Gongming when needed 38 40.

Pursuit of Primordial Violet Qi

Di Jun joins Di Jiang and East King Duke in an attempted seizure of Ancestor Hongyun's Primordial Violet Qi. The trio uses Zhao Gongming's treasures to incapacitate Zhen Yuanzi and Hongyun until Zhao Gongming threatens to stop refining artifacts for them 42 43.

Protector of the Human Race

Di Jun pledges that threats against the Human Race will be treated as offenses against the Demon Court, promising to send Taiyi after any aggressor 71.

Otherworld City Lord

After being pulled into a cyber cultivation world, Di Jun is ambushed by four peak Quasi-Saint enemies. His conceptual armor and gloves repel them, allowing him to establish himself as the world's “City Lord” and command its cyber cultivators 153.

He later stands against Khorne's invading army and defeats Khorne's projection using the Gloves of Free Combat 155 156.

Family and Brother-in-Law Conflict

Upon returning to the Primordial World, Di Jun reunites with Xihe and Lu Ya but faces accusations concerning his conduct in the other world 159. His feud with Di Jiang becomes more complicated when Wangshu openly confirms Di Jiang as her Dao Companion, making Di Jiang Di Jun's brother-in-law 163.

Di Jun subsequently uses the Ultimate Bridge-Blocking Cruise Missile against Di Jiang, only halting when Xihe's authority is invoked 166.
