History

Frieza’s Invasion

Frieza’s army invades Planet Namek to seize its Dragon Balls, slaughtering villagers and destroying the planet’s peaceful routine. Namekian defenders destroy the invaders’ scouters, obstructing their search because Frieza’s soldiers cannot sense ki 14 16 19.

Gohan rescues Dende and Danjer from an attacked village. The Grand Elder then helps the Earth visitors by awakening their potential and entrusting Gohan with Namek’s protection. Vegeta separately massacres another village and hides its Dragon Ball in a fish pond 16 17 19.

After Frieza’s defeat, Earth’s Shenron resurrects the slain Namekians. The Grand Elder cannot return because he died of natural causes, so the Second Elder assumes leadership. The people create new Dragon Balls and use them to revive the victims of Vegeta and Nappa on Earth 39 40.

King Cold’s Attack & Recovery

King Cold arrives seeking Frieza’s remains and threatens to kill every Namekian. Gohan and the Z Warriors return to defend the planet, and Piccolo experiences a strong sense of homecoming upon meeting his people 42.

The battle leaves only five or six Namekians alive despite Nail and the Earth fighters’ assistance. After King Cold is eliminated, the Dragon Balls revive the casualties 43 46.
