Background / History

Li Qingqiu began as the eldest senior brother of the tiny Qingxiao Sect, which had only seven disciples and lacked both a protective array and guardian beast. Upon becoming Sect Leader, he awakened access to the Dao Lineage panel, allowing him to inspect disciples' aptitude, comprehension, Destinies, and loyalty. He immediately began shaping the sect around its members' strengths, envisioning Jiang Zhaoxia as a chief fighter and Zhang Yuchun as an administrator. 1

Driven by a childhood fascination with martial arts, Li Qingqiu sought a signature inheritance powerful enough to establish the Qingxiao Sect in the jianghu. His Innate Sword Maniac Fate let him master the Nine Extremes Divine Sword after one practice session, rapidly surpassing even Jiang Zhaoxia's sword talent. 2 4

As Sect Master, he secured the Qin family's financial support and accepted six Qin family disciples, establishing an early model of mutually beneficial ties with wealthy families. 15 16 He later retaliated against the Seven Peaks Alliance for its conflict with the Qingxiao Sect, assassinating First Alliance Leader Lü Taidou and killing another leader who attempted to intercept him. 21 24

Li Qingqiu transformed the Qingxiao Sect from an obscure mountain sect into a major martial force by recruiting disciples, developing resources, establishing halls, and cultivating talented successors. He discovered a spirit mine, planned a stronghold around it, founded the Sword Sect for internal order and covert assignments, and prepared the sect for threats surrounding the Martial Tomb. 62 98

When Emperor Zhao Zhi pursued immortality through the Sky Mending Plan, Li Qingqiu entered Zhenyang Imperial City alone. He cut through Divine Martial Soldiers and Forbidden Martial Guards, then beheaded Zhao Zhi using the Mountain Lord Divine Incantation and Heavenly Rainbow Sword. He subsequently defeated Master Jiang, confronted the Demonic Sect founder Xuan Gong, and obtained the Sky Mending Great Array. 128 130 132

Following Zhao Zhi's death, Li Qingqiu's name spread throughout the land and the Qingxiao Sect entered an unprecedented period of growth. He continued cultivating rather than settling for worldly supremacy, focusing on immortality and a long-term vision of sect-controlled cave dwellings, transportation, arrays, and cities across the world. 135 136 164

He later supported Liu Jing's claim to the throne on the condition that Liu Jing unify the realm within three years. After the Xuan Dynasty was established, the Qingxiao Sect became the realm's sole revered power. 229 269

Personality

Li Qingqiu is pragmatic, farsighted, and highly confident in his own judgment. He values capable people regardless of background, assigning disciples according to their talents and maintaining systems that allow the sect to function without his constant intervention. 1 225

He rejects being ruled by Destiny. While he studies Destinies to identify potential and danger, he refuses to force people into predetermined roles and is willing to alter fate when it threatens the Qingxiao Sect. 152

Though feared for his ruthlessness, he consistently protects those he considers innocent or worthy of shelter. He rescued captives from the Cui Manor, eliminated the family to prevent retaliation, entrusted orphaned children to Bo Zhao, and later accepted Bo Zhao and the girls into the sect. 116 153 He is also capable of mercy toward defeated enemies, offering Wei Tianxiong a place in the Qingxiao Sect rather than killing him. 281
