Background / History

Tong Tian was originally one of the Three Pure Ones alongside Taishang and Yuanshi. After the two lost their status as the Pan Gu Orthodox Sect, Yuanshi proposed killing Tong Tian, while Taishang regarded Tong Tian’s surviving hatred as a dangerous variable rather than showing him mercy 92 95.

At Great Luo Initial Stage, Tong Tian was ambushed by Yuanshi and Taishang and severely wounded by the Ferocious Beast Bai Hu. Refusing to yield, he burned his lifespan, origin, and soul to force himself to Mixed Origin Golden Immortal Late Stage and launch a retaliatory sword strike 95. Greedy Wolf and Army Breaker later saved him, while Luo Hou recovered his True Spirit and brought him to the Devil World 96.

Di Tian revived Tong Tian and offered him the means to pursue revenge in exchange for service. Consumed by resentment, Tong Tian entered the Demonic Path, formed a Demon Soul, and rapidly recovered to Great Luo Perfection through negative energies 96 97.

Appearance

After his demonic rebirth, Tong Tian is associated with the image of a peerless demonic sword and bears a Demonic Qi Purple Lotus mark 97 142.

  • Surrounded by Sha Qi, demonic qi, and resentment during his restoration 97.
  • His sword, Wujian, is ultimately withdrawn back into his own body 186.
  • His outward emotional detachment became pronounced after entering the Demonic Path 142.

Personality

Tong Tian is defined by intense resolve and a refusal to submit, even when facing enemies far above his apparent cultivation. His betrayal by Taishang and Yuanshi transformed that determination into a focused, enduring desire for retribution 95 96.

Following his demonic transformation, he became cold and task-oriented, directing his attention toward revenge and Di Tian’s assignments. Despite this, he remains capable of independent judgment: he defended the Kongtong Seal from Di Tian when he believed the Human Race’s interest was at stake 142 202.
