Background / History
Laozi was one of the Three Pure Ones and the elder brother of Yuanshi and Tongtian. At Buzhou Mountain, he perceived Dao Xuan's karmic connection to his own future enlightenment and accepted him as his first disciple. 9
After returning to Kunlun, Laozi brought Dao Xuan to Taiqing Palace, explained the Taiqing Dao of non-action and naturalness, and imparted the Taiqing Immortal Art and Nine Revolutions Profound Origin Technique. His guidance continued through direct answers to Dao Xuan's cultivation questions, Dao discussions, and instruction through alchemy work. 10 11
Laozi received a strand of Primordial Violet Qi from Dao Ancestor Hongjun, then the Taiji Diagram to preside over the Xuanmen and safeguard its Dao lineage. 13 14 Seeking his own opportunity, he later lived anonymously among the Human Race for a century, teaching ordinary people through simple, practical answers. He founded the Human Religion and attained Sainthood as the Taiqing Saint. 47
During the Investiture of the Gods Calamity, Laozi entrusted major tasks to Dao Xuan, including recovering the Kongtong Seal and leading the effort against Yin Shang. He personally entered Tongtian's Immortal Execution Sword Formation and later supported Dao Xuan after his own ascension to Sainthood. 84 138 160 178
