Sasuke remained calm and composed, paying no attention to the people around him. His only pair of burning black eyes stared straight at Naruto.
Power was the only thing he wanted.
"As long as you're willing to beat me..."
He didn't finish the sentence.
But his resolve was already perfectly clear.
Haruno Sakura couldn't bear the thought of the person she liked fighting someone else she liked. Yet, for some reason, her mind began to wander, filled with anticipation and regret.
Why couldn't they be fighting over her?
Haruno Sakura! How could you think that?!
She hurriedly stopped herself.
A faint floral scent drifted through the hospital room, driving away the smell of disinfectant.
Naruto had no reason to refuse anymore.
Just then, the sound of heavy, rapid footsteps rang out in the hallway. The door burst open.
Might Guy's booming voice rang out in an urgent shout, his face full of worry.
"Lord Tsunade! You're back!"
"Guy," Tsunade replied.
"Please save Rock Lee! You're the only one who can save him!"
"Who's Rock Lee?"
Might Guy braced his hands on his knees, looking exhausted. He must have run from far away at incredible speed. "He's my student."
"What happened to him?"
Might Guy burst into tears. "He had nearly a hundred bones broken during the Chunin Exams. He can just about walk now, but he can't even do five hundred push-ups anymore."
Tsunade folded her arms. "I'm a freelance doctor now, so I charge a fee."
Might Guy nodded firmly and pulled out a bankbook he'd prepared in advance. He opened it. "I don't care how much it costs! As long as you can heal Rock Lee!"
Tsunade's brown eyes lit up. "Come on, take me to see him!"
Shizune said goodbye to Naruto and followed after them.
