East King Duke emerges after ten million years of seclusion, wielding dense Yin-Yang Law and bearing an aura of an Immortal Emperor. His cultivation path rejects becoming a pawn in the Witch-Demon Tribulation; rather than struggle openly for destiny, he seeks a superior route to authority and Dao attainment 1 3.

He encounters West Queen Mother while she battles the Fierce Beast Qiongqi. After defeating Qiongqi, he spares it and makes it his mount, then aids its rebirth into the Thunderous Tyrant Dragon Qiongxiu. His intervention also begins his Dao-companion relationship with West Queen Mother 3 11.

At Purple Cloud Palace, his Peak Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal cultivation and unusual Yin-Yang aura draw the suspicion of Dao Ancestor Hongjun. The Heavenly Dao identifies him as possessing the origin of the Yin-Yang Demon God rather than being a surviving Chaos Demon God 5.
