During the escalating Uchiha–Konoha conflict, he worries over the village's treatment of the clan and initially dismisses Siming's proposed solution as implausible 5 7.

Shisui's faith in Siming and Siming's decisive intervention alter Itachi's outlook. He begins reporting Root activity to Fugaku, alarming and delighting his father, who recognizes that Itachi has begun turning back toward the Uchiha Clan 16. Under Siming's direction, Itachi reveals his Mangekyō Sharingan to recruit like-minded subordinates while avoiding open exposure 27.
