"Our Phoenix Race is willing to become an auspicious sign of heaven and earth! We will guard the Undying Volcano forever!"
Yuanfeng chose to become an auspicious sign of heaven and earth. There was no other reason: if she made the same choice as the Ancestral Dragon, the Phoenix Race might well be wiped out.
Hongjun had already become a Saint, and the Primordial World... To put it plainly, she had finally awakened to the truth: the Innate Three Races could never hope to claim the role of protagonists in this world.
No, that wasn't quite right. The Innate Three Races simply weren't suited to be the protagonists.
The Phoenix Race would become an auspicious sign of heaven and earth, with part of its people forever guarding the Undying Volcano. That way, the Phoenix Race would at least leave behind descendants. If she chose option one, Hongjun might wipe out the entire race.
As for option three... winning the fight wouldn't help. They might even end up destroying each other.
The Heavenly Secrets became clear, and her inner demons dissipated.
Yuanfeng was a clever woman.
Yuanfeng chose to become an auspicious sign of heaven and earth. All the members of the Phoenix Race would retain their consciousness, much like Luohu, and protect the Primordial World.
First Qilin made the same choice.
He wasn't a transmigrator, either. In his eyes, a Saint's power was impossible to resist.
Besides, the Heavenly Secrets had become clear, and he now understood the state of the three races. If they chose to fight in Chaos, wouldn't all their people die in battle?
So he no longer intended to resist Hongjun.
Seated within Jade Capital Mountain, Hongjun already knew what the three races had chosen.
He let out a soft sigh.
As expected, transmigrators were rather impulsive. They actually thought they could use the power of the Dragon Race to stand against a Saint?
Come on. Surely you didn't think Shi Chen would still help you at this point?
It was laughable.
It wasn't that the combined power of his entire race couldn't fight a Saint. They could fight, and they might even manage against someone like Zhunti. But at best, neither side would win, and Zhunti would still crush most of the Dragon Race.
Besides, even if they beat a Saint, would that make him a Saint?
Everyone knew that enough ants could kill an elephant. But who had ever heard of ants becoming elephants after killing one?
Dealing with the Dragon Race would be easy.
The transmigrator's system had already used up eighty percent of its energy. It was unlikely to abandon its host and leave this world, and the Great Dao behind it wouldn't come to his rescue, either. There was no need anymore.
(The system's energy had all gone toward giving him spiritual treasures: countless top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures, several Innate Supreme Treasures, one Chaos Spiritual Treasure, and one Chaos Supreme Treasure.)
It was time to harvest the Ancestral Dragon.
Ten thousand years later.
The Dragon Race's army advanced toward Jade Capital Mountain in a mighty procession.
The Dragon Race's goal was to kill Hongjun.
The Phoenix Race and the Qilin Race had come as well. They were waiting for Hongjun to deal with the Ancestral Dragon before transforming into the Dao.
The three races had an army of more than ten trillion, their bodies towering between heaven and earth.
Countless troops converged on Jade Capital Mountain.
The cultivators who had once practiced in the area around Jade Capital Mountain had long since fled at the news. If they were too slow and ran into the Dragon Race's army, they wouldn't meet a pleasant end.
The Dragon Race acted tyrannically. In their eyes, any living being they encountered was in for trouble.
"The Dragon Race, the Phoenix Race, and the Qilin Race—you've all come."
Hongjun slowly opened his eyes. His body expanded, and his enormous form, a million feet tall, sat upon the clouds. His gaze swept across the armies below, and he smiled faintly.
"Now, tell me your choices."
"Saint above, I, Yuanfeng, am willing to lead the Phoenix Race in becoming an auspicious sign of heaven and earth and guarding the Undying Volcano forever, in exchange for a sliver of hope."
Yuanfeng bowed to Hongjun.
"Saint above, I, First Qilin, am willing to lead the Qilin Race in becoming an auspicious sign of heaven and earth. I only ask that you allow my descendants to retain their consciousness!"
First Qilin bowed as well.
"Very good. Though you were once ensnared by demonic delusions, you have now regained your reason."
Hongjun nodded in satisfaction.
Since they were both showing him such respect, Hongjun had nothing more to say. The Ancestral Dragon's energy could be used to replenish the world.
The energy of a False Great Dao Saint was enough to expand the entire Chaos World by thirty percent, the Primordial Chaos by fifty percent, and the Primordial World by a hundred percent.
Why could it expand by so much?
Because the Great Dao Power came from the Great Dao of another world.
Besides, Pangu had been able to create the Primordial World. A False Great Dao Saint was no less impressive.
"Daoist Ancestral Dragon, what have you decided?"
Hongjun turned to the Ancestral Dragon.
"Hongjun!"
The Ancestral Dragon shouted,
"Before I answer your question, let me ask you a few things."
His words made Yuanfeng and First Qilin exchange startled glances.
They hadn't expected the Ancestral Dragon to be so domineering—not only did he refuse to show a Saint any respect, he even addressed him by name.
It looked like he had no intention of submitting to the Saint's arrangements.
"Go ahead."
Hongjun glanced at him and nodded calmly.
"Good. Then let me ask you this."
The Ancestral Dragon raised the corners of his mouth with confidence.
"Originally, the three races coexisted peacefully on the Primordial World. But later, our conflicts grew more and more intense. I know Luohu was secretly plotting to make the three races fight each other. But you knew he was manipulating us—why didn't you stop him? Was part of Luohu's scheme your doing, too?"
Today, he would expose Hongjun's hypocritical façade before the myriad races of the Primordial World.
"What? Saint Hongjun schemed to start the War of the Three Tribes? No way!"
"That's impossible. How could Saint Hongjun have schemed against the Innate Three Races?"
"Exactly! The Dragon Race acts tyrannically, and the Innate Three Races have occupied the Primordial World. There's hardly any room left for the rest of us, and he still has the nerve to claim Saint Hongjun schemed against the Innate Three Races?"
"Bah! Hongjun is shameless and despicable. Our Dragon Race was peacefully guarding the Four Seas, but he forced us to fight. If that isn't shameless and despicable, what is?"
"Heh. You Dragon Race claim to guard the Four Seas, but in truth, you've just claimed them as your own. A friend of mine was cultivating in the East Sea, but you killed him with your usual brutality and claimed it was your territory."
"Exactly! If that's what guarding means, why not let me guard the Four Seas for a while?"
"Come on. Surely nobody thinks the Dragon Race are good guys?"
"You! I'll kill you!"
For a time, many of the bolder cultivators within a radius of ten million miles around Jade Capital Mountain began arguing.
Many even mocked the Dragon Race.
Of course, they ran off as soon as they were done. They were afraid the Dragon Race would come after them.
No one dared offend a Saint, but no one dared offend the armies of the three races, either.
Although there were many innate gods and demons at the time, who would dare challenge the Innate Three Races?
The Innate Three Races were simply too numerous. An army this powerful could wipe out any innate god or demon who wasn't afraid of dying... Heh, one came, one died; ten thousand came, ten thousand died.
