Background / History

Luohu was a reincarnated Chaos Demon God who survived into the early Primordial World. During the Beast Calamity, he fought alongside Hongjun, Yang Mei, Yin Yang, and Qiankun against Beast Emperor Shen Ni. Despite this earlier cooperation, Luohu regarded Hongjun as a destined lifelong enemy and eventually sought to kill him. 14 21

He established the Demonic Cult Tradition and secretly had Mo Race disciples inflame hostility among the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin races. His intended path to sainthood required the Three Races’ war, the West’s Spiritual Veins, and the resulting essence blood and Sha Qi; the plan would turn the Primordial Continent into a hellish battlefield. 14 15 17

Yang Mei, Yin Yang, Qiankun, and Shi Chen first confronted Luohu at Mount Sumeru. Luohu openly acknowledged his plan rather than deny it, dismissed the four as inferior to Hongjun, and activated the Four Swords of Zhu Xian to drive them away. After his scheme was exposed, he began uprooting the Western Spiritual Veins to strengthen his formation. 17 18 19

When Hongjun later arrived with Yang Mei, Yin Yang, Qiankun, and Wangshu, Luohu revealed the completed Immortal Slaying Sword Formation. He refused to leave its protection despite Hongjun’s provocations, knowing that Hongjun was the only opponent he truly needed to fear. 21 22

Hongjun, Yang Mei, Yin Yang, and Qiankun entered the formation through its four gates, suppressing its sword energies. Luohu continued to contend with all four using the God-Slaying Spear and World-Ending Black Lotus, then detonated both treasures when Hongjun attempted to seize the Four Swords. The attack killed Yin Yang, gravely injured Qiankun, drove Yang Mei from the Primordial World, and left Luohu unable to continue fighting normally. 24 25 26

Rather than accept defeat, Luohu made his final oath to the Heavenly Dao. He became the Supreme Heavenly Demon, ensuring that cultivators would face heart demons during breakthroughs and establishing an enduring opposition between the Dao and the Demonic Dao. 27

Appearance

When confronting Hongjun’s group outside the Immortal Slaying Sword Formation, Luohu appeared as an ominous Daoist whose presence overwhelmed even ancestor-level cultivators. 22

Personality

Luohu was proud, confrontational, and utterly unapologetic about his methods. When directly asked whether he planned to harvest the Three Races’ conflict to become a Saint, he simply admitted it. He considered the other ancestors beneath his notice and believed only Hongjun qualified as a true rival. 17 18

His arrogance was tempered by strong caution around Hongjun. Luohu repeatedly refused invitations to leave the Immortal Slaying Sword Formation, convinced that Hongjun’s provocations concealed a trap. 21 22

After the formation battle turned against him, his confidence became manic desperation. He was willing to destroy his own supreme treasures and ultimately sacrifice his original existence to establish the Supreme Heavenly Demon Realm. 25 26 27
