Background and History

Rebirth and Nuoding Academy

Ye Qinghe dies in his previous life after staying up late rereading a novel by Egg-Fried Green Peppers. Reborn in Dihun Village, he loses his mother shortly after birth. His father disappears while seeking a second soul ring when Ye Qinghe is two, leaving Village Chief Old Tom to raise him 1.

At six, he attends the martial soul awakening in neighboring Holy Soul Village alongside Tang San. His Emotion Value System activates during the ceremony, allowing him to choose twin martial souls. He conceals the Embroidery Needle in his left hand and presents himself as a War Tiger user with rank-three innate soul power 1.

At Nuoding Academy, he combines physical training, meditation, library study, and needle practice. He also deliberately provokes Yu Xiaogang, Tang San, and Xiao Wu to obtain system rewards. His sabotage includes pouring Water of the Mother-and-Child River into Yu Xiaogang’s kettle and later paying the academy gatekeeper to spread news of Yu Xiaogang’s pregnancy 3 7 9 17.

After obtaining his first ring, he defeats Tang San and Xiao Wu at his home. He secretly feeds the unconscious Tang San an Appearance-Fixing Pill, leaving him physically unchanged years later. Concerned about Tang Hao’s protection of Tang San, Ye Qinghe leaves Nuoding and heads toward Heaven Dou City 14 17 32 33.

Hundred Beasts Academy and the Dugu Family

A chance meeting with Xiao Chenyu and his father, City Lord Xiao Yan, helps Ye Qinghe enter Hundred Beasts Academy. He repays their assistance by sharing a meditation method and basic grappling techniques with Xiao Chenyu 21 22.

Through Dugu Yan, he meets Dugu Bo and demonstrates beast martial soul mimicry as a way to avoid the Jade Phosphorous Serpent’s harmful effects. Dugu Bo thanks him for curing his granddaughter’s poison and takes him to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, where Ye Qinghe gathers immortal herbs and develops the Evil Tiger martial soul 26 27 28 29.

He spends several years cultivating at the Well and sparring with Dugu Bo. Before returning to his hometown and entering Heaven Dou Royal Academy, he explains his conflict with Tang San’s family. Dugu Bo promises to protect him from Tang Hao 30 31 32.

Bibi Dong and the Imperial Fighting Team

A system-related experience causes Ye Qinghe to exchange bodies with an eighteen-year-old Bibi Dong. The exchanges recur on alternating days, and the two communicate through a notebook containing their activities and instructions 36 38 50.

While Bibi Dong occupies his body, she challenges Yu Tianheng during his entry into the Imperial Fighting Team. Ye Qinghe subsequently holds the captaincy, and his martial soul fusion with Zhu Zhuqing defeats the team’s instructor, Qin Ming 50 51 54.

His rivalry with Shrek escalates into arena battles and confrontations outside them. He rejects Flender’s demand that he cripple himself or join Shrek, dismisses Qin Ming after the instructor urges him to yield, and calls on Dugu Bo when Flender prepares to attack 68.

Tournament Campaign

Ye Qinghe leads his team to Gold Soul Fighting Badges, defeating a stronger Soul Ancestor team with Storm Nebula Rend and his teammates’ coordinated attacks 132.

During the Soul Master Tournament, he personally eliminates all seven Elephant Armor Academy opponents. He later defeats Feng Xiaotian without releasing his martial soul, despite allowing Feng Xiaotian to claim victory if he can force him to do so 187 208.

When the Imperial Fighting Team receives its championship reward, Bibi Dong publicly removes her mask and acknowledges their relationship, revealing to his teammates that his third girlfriend is Spirit Hall’s Supreme Pontiff 264.

Later Cultivation and Other Worlds

Later passages follow him under the name Tang Qinghe. He travels with A Jie and the two Young Masters, declines their invitations to join the Heavenly Palace, and continues increasing his cultivation 280.

After reaching rank 99, he visits Martial Soul City, completes the Evil God’s trial, and sends several companions to Sea God Island to pursue godhood. He then enters seclusion in the depths of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well to refine the Evil God’s Divine Core 316 319.

Following his return, he holds a grand wedding with twenty brides and defeats Han San when the ceremony is attacked. He uses the System to visit other worlds and recruit transmigrators. A later recruitment-card use also brings back Dugu Yan’s deceased parents 338 340.

He balances cruelty toward enemies with caution about stronger opponents. Early on, he avoids openly threatening Tang San while Tang Hao remains nearby, conceals his unusual rings, and seeks Dugu Bo’s backing rather than relying solely on his own strength 4 8 13 24 27.

Toward people he accepts as friends or benefactors, he is generous and protective. He brings practical gifts to Old Tom and Old Jack, teaches Xiao Chenyu, distributes valuable herbs, and defends Zhu Zhuqing from Dai Mubai.
