Hope, Then Despair!

The Lion King was not the only one to board this Chaos Battleship. The entire Sons of the Forest Chapter had come along as well.

After being reorganized and restructured, the Chapter that the Lion King had bestowed with the name "Sons of the Forest" included the Dawn Watch, which had originally served under Alvin, as well as the original Blade Legion. Numbering roughly three hundred men, they were commanded by Afkar, Zabriel, and Ollsen.

This assault was, in a sense, also a trial for this brand-new Chapter.

As it turned out, the Sons of the Forest had not disappointed the Lion King—or Alvin.

Though they had once borne the names of traitors and Fallen Angels, they were still the finest warriors, members of the First Legion, and the Lion King's proud sons.

The Lion King made use of his Warp abilities to leap back and forth between the various Chaos Battleships.

Whenever the mysterious forest from Caliban slowly unfolded before the damned traitors, what awaited them was the wrath and judgment of the Imperium and the Lion King, delayed for countless years!

Mysterious, swift, deadly!

Those were their bywords. Every operation was like a beast in the forest searching for the fatal opening exposed by its prey,

and then—a fatal strike!

"Watch the ships!" Ollsen gripped his still-dripping Power sword. After hacking off an enemy's head, he smashed the opponent's chest with the explosive fist of his left hand, then wiped the blood from his helmet visor and said coldly, "His Highness Alvin specifically instructed us not to damage these ships."

All around him lay fallen Chaos Space Marines. They groaned, their eyes wide with confusion and bafflement.

They could not understand how these Imperial Space Marines had bypassed detection and suddenly appeared aboard the ship like ghosts.
